(mih-lawn)"I'm honestly so glad you're out with me Mi...." I smiled, picking up my glass of cranberry and taking a sip. I rubbed my arms up and down anxiously and looked around as the club started to fill. This definitely wasn't my type of scene. I much rather be curled up reading a book or learning about why cells reproduce. But, my bestfriend asked for the 50th time this week so I obliged.
Arima was always the fun one. She'd go out every weekend. She was the one who was outgoing and adventurous. It's been that way since middle school. Ofcourse that made me the one who had to always look out for her and protect her. We're both 22 now and literally nothing has changed.
"I thought I'd step out my comfort zone tonight." I said, fixing my olive green dress.
"Well you damn sure did! Look at this dress girl! I haven't seen you show this much skin since our beach trip."
My eyes widened as I looked down. I was skeptical about wearing this dress because of the scandalous cutouts. "Really? Is it that bad?" I wrapped my arms around my body as Arima started laughing. "No boo, you look amazing. That green makes your melanin pop." I smiled, thanking her for her compliment.
"You want another drink?" She asked.
"I'm still on my first. You really spend all this money on drinks." I took small sips of my juice. Ofcourse Arima would get on me if she knew I wasn't actually drinking. But she wouldn't find out.
"Pay? Girl no. This is what you do." She handed me her clutch and I sat up on a bar stool. "Watch and learn." She cooed as she walked towards the dance floor. I admired her body and how nice it looked in the grey dress she wore. Her knee high black boots tied everything together. My best friend really was a baddie.
She was now in the middle, and as if on cue, Chris Brown's new single, Back to sleep played. She rose her arms and twirled her hips side to side as the beat blared through the room of intoxicated people. I titled my head to the side and questioned my sexuality for a few seconds as she bent over, moving her hips side to side. My mouth opened and I scanned the room, everyone's mouth were just as gaped as mine. Arima was putting on a show.
