Darkness vs. Light

The darkness

thick and murky

closes in

as I find

I'm stuck in a corner.

Closer and closer

the darkness creeps,

I fall to my knees.

As the tears begin to fall,

a light begins to flow

from the smallest cracks;

it pushes and stretches further in

and brighter it becomes.

The darkness, now afraid,

begins to run away.

Trapped in a corner,

darkness waits.

As I now walk in the light

constantly battling darkness

day and night;

always aware of

darkness's swift moves.

Enlightened to the fact still

that even a small portion of light

can brighten

any dark room.
