The clock ticks slowly,
every second going so slow,
then when it reaches noon,
it stops; time is slammed to a close.
Why did this happen?
Maybe time got bored with life.
Maybe someone stopped it by magic.
Maybe it stopped because you entered the room.
The real reason it stopped was never discovered,
but in the end I think I knew why.
Not because of life or magic,
not even you stopped the clock.
It stopped because the batteries died.
