Domino Effect

A girl walking down the street

keeping up with the beat.

She tries her time to make a living.

Works while she is forgiving

herself from her past

with her last.

The money puts food on the table

for her and her little boy,

while people can't help but label.

He never knows when his mom will be home.

Nowhere to go, he is all alone.

His mother passes out,

no one hears him shout

for help, to stay alive, to live today.

He wants to go far away from his trouble

trying not to make it double.

Then when his world is upside down,

he meets a girl to get rid of his frown.

This girl never felt love before,

she always ended up on the floor

of her room with tears in her eyes.

Trying to convince her parents they aren't lies,

but the monster eats them from the inside out,

and no one hears them shout.

Now the only ones left are the boy and girl,

hoping for better nights

without fear.
