"I have double science first thing on a Monday" Olivia whined leaning on her locker "this sucks!" She added in frustration, Olivia hated science, only because she didnt understand it probably sitting at the back with Lori, Andrea and Rick didnt help. This year was different, either Olivia really didnt get science or the teachers had had enough of the groups disruptions and separated them all putting her in the lowest class "class will suck without you" Andrea said sweetly rubbing Olivia's arm, Olivia pulled a sarcastic face "its not the end of the world" she replied to her friend, Andrea was a sweet girl but Olivia knew she was always finding a way to become Lori who was Olivia's second in command, something Olivia was beginning to notice more and more as she evaluated her life lately. "I'll see you guys later" Olivia sighed walking towards her class for the morning "Liv, where ya going?" Shane called out to her, she turned round with a sarcastic expression "class?" She replied, he knew where she was going "where's my kiss?" He whispered licking his lips grazing his hand down her lower back "later" she whispered gently pushing him away and walking back to class, for the first time in a long time she was going to be on her own, none of her group were going to be there, she wasnt sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
"Miss Blake, how kind of you to join us!" Mr Fenner smugly greeted her seeing she was a few minutes late, the whole class stared up at her, feeling the heat on her cheeks from slight embarrassment she flashed a quick smile and sat at the empty desk at the back of the class feeling all the eyes watching her. "We have a new student with us today, Daryl Dickens?" Mr Fenner called out only to be cut off by the new student himself "its Dixon!" The class laughed as Daryl growled his correct name from the table next to Olivia "Daryl Dixon" Mr Fenner replied before hushing the class down. Olivia looked to Daryl, he was the guy Shane shoved into a locker and the one the girls mocked in the car park, she smiled his way, she wasnt surprised when he cut his eyes at her and looked back down at his desk, he probably knew she hung around with Shane.
Olivia spent most of the class looking at everyone, the girls in the class all making eyes her way to analyse her outfit, she thought back to the year before when whatever Olivia wore one day, the next day most of the girls wore something similar, sometimes Lori and Andrea did the same. And then she felt bad, most of the girls in the class she had made of fun of at one time or another and yet she was the most popular girl in school, it wasnt a party unless her and Shane were there, It was a parade for them all when they walked through the school, every guy wanted to be Shane and every girl wanted to be with him and vice versa for Olivia.
The class passed Olivia by, she took nothing in apart from Madison Lane's cheap perfume which gave her a headache, she widened her eyes when she realised in her head she was judging people again. "This has to stop" she whispered to herself as she packed her things away.
As she headed from the door she could hear Shane winding up the younger students waiting outside "wanna watch me practice?" He whispered to her pulling her into his side flexing his muscles for her, before she could answer he spotted Daryl "you are really slumming it in this class aint ya Liv?" He teased loud enough for Daryl to square up to him and glare at him. Olivia broke the tension "Shane!" She moaned at him, she watched Daryl walk away from him "sorry Daryl!" She called out to him, he didnt look back but she felt she should apologise for her boyfriend's actions, Shane laughed and some of his fellow football players followed suit which made Olivia scan over them all "there was no need for that" she snapped pushing herself from Shane's grips and walking away, she looked back and cut her eyes when she heard Shane and his friends mock someone else as they walked by, to think she would of joined in once before.
Most of the day Olivia kicked herself inside for wearing her wedges that were by now killing her feet. She had a free period and decided to get some peace by sitting on the field alone, Lori and Andrea were most likely at the mall and Shane, Rick and TDog had football practice. Kicking her shoes from her she freed her feet, tilting her head back and closing her eyes she felt the wind blow through her hair, it was a refreshing breeze, all she could hear was the guys playing, shouting for the ball and other kids running the track. Taking her phone from her bag she found several missed calls and messages
Hey hey girly! We are off to the mall, cba for maths! Meet you at the booth? L xx
Come to the mall perlease! Rick and Lori have their tongues in eachothers crevices and its disgusting! Save me! Andrea xox
Whats your problem today? Time of the month? Xxx
The last message was from Shane, shaking her head at his 'charm' , without replying she plugged her headphones in and opened up spotify. It was nice having time alone without the generic meet up at the mall, it was a welcome change of scenery.
"Hey! Lady!" A snappy voice called to her, prodding her with his shoe on her leg, startling her, it was Daryl, taking her head phones from her she finally heard him clearer "these flew out your bag." He spoke handing her a wad of dishevelled papers "oh, thankyou" Olivia replied holding her hand above her eyeline to block the bright sunlight "i should really do my bag up better" she tried to make a joke except Daryl didnt reply, he gave a 'whatever' shrug and walked away. Placing the papers back in her bag she stood up and ran to him "Daryl? Im really sorry about Shane, he can be a bit if an ape sometimes" she spoke nervously fiddling with her bracelet as she did. "Sometimes?" He quizzed as they both looked to the field to see Shane giving one of his team mates a hard time by gripping him in a headlock "I just wanted to apologise" she smiled placing a strand of hair behind her ear "dont, people like you aint sorry for shit" he snapped eyeing her up and down before walking back away from her.
