Olivia was surprised when Daryl agreed to join her family for dinner, it didnt take hardly any pleading and persuading which she was quite frankly prepping herself for. Had he not heard the stories she told of her father?

Feeling rather anxious she sneaked outside for a smoke, lying to her parents that she would wait for Daryl to arrive at the gate. Smoking with her parents home was something she was never brave enough to do but tonight she needed something to take the edge off.

She smiled happily when she saw Daryl ride up to her gate, he looked super hot riding that bike . "You do know what you are getting yourself in for here right?" Olivia speculated raising a brow linking his arm "judging by you smoking out here with them home, I dont think I do" he replied trying to act like he wasnt nervous but she could tell. "Why does he wanna meet me so bad?" Daryl asked as they walked in her driveway to her door "I know its the thing to do but Dad's dont meet me. Infact your parents are the first ive had dinner with" he admitted making Olivia feel uneasy. He really was in for a rough ride she thought. "I apologise now for anything he says" she wearily smiled "i really do" she added sounding firm.

Olivia smirked when the hired chef placed the starters they were having in front of Daryl. She couldnt help it, it was typical of her father to go all out like this to show the money they had, plus Daryl's face when he eyed up all the various cutlery that was laid out was priceless!

Sitting across Daryl with each of her parents on either end of their long table her father started the conversation. "So Daryl is it?" He began "tell me about yourself" Olivia looked to Daryl awaiting his reply as he chowed down his food with not much decorum. She stifled a laugh when she saw her father's disgruntled face. Food still in his mouth Daryl gave a quip reply "in the last two years ive been to seventeen different schools, I live in a trailer park that could most likely fit in one of your bathrooms and right now im sitting having dinner with you guys" Olivia swallowed hard, no one either gave such an honest answer like that, even Shane knew what her father wanted to hear and right now this was not it.

Her father looked unimpressed whilst her mother tried to break the tension "where did you say you lived?" She asked with a smile. Olivia looked to Daryl again who didnt seem phased by the interrogation and was quite frankly being himself, he wasnt lying. "Woodbury Gardens trailer park" he responded, albeit politer than his reply to her father.

Daryl shot Olivia a smile after he thanked the server for removing his starter plate. Looking to her father, he had his chin resting on his hands as he asked another question "and why so many schools? You a trouble maker? Or you move around a lot?" Olivia inhaled deeply and shut her eyes awaiting Daryl's response. She wasnt prepared for this much tension and awkwardness at dinner. Screwing up his fabric napkin beside his finger bowl Daryl spoke again "both really, drugs, fighting" Olivia's eyes widened at his honest response. She didnt know whether to laugh or cry right now. She opted for a nervous laugh as she reached for her water glass.

'This was such a bad idea' Olivia kept saying over and over again, her father did not like Daryl and vice versa. It was becoming more of a disaster than she had anticipated.

Daring not to look directly at her father, but from the corner of her eye she could see him looking at Daryl like he was dirt, and beneath him. Wiping his mouth with his napkin he continued to question Daryl further "so tell me what your intentions are with my daughter?" Olivia couldnt sink any further into her chair. "Dear" her mother spoke in a warning tone shooting him a look to not ask that. "Yea, Dad its early days" Olivia laughed embarrassed.

Her father cleared his throat as a sign for the kitchen to send out their mains but he continued to question. "Well what do you have to offer my daughter?" It was basically the same question just he re worded it. "Nothing Mr Blake. Not anything. Just Olivia being with me is enough" Daryl replied smiling at Olivia. She couldnt help blush at his words, looking at her mother she was smiling too at his sweetness. Her father however didnt like that response. "So after highschool do you intend to go to a college?" He asked continuing with the third degree "nah, i'll just go get a job, I wanna fix and build bikes" Daryl replied. Olivia knew her father wouldnt approve of that response "bikes?" He asked with skepticism.

"Thats interesting Daryl, we dont have mechanics in the family" her mother spoke sounding very enthused. "Or someone without a college education" her father scolded not looking up from the table. The tension was strong and Olivia wanted the dinner to hurry and end and hoped Daryl didnt want out of their relationship because of it. "Olivia why dont you and your mother clear the plates and we give the help the rest of the night off" her father suggested. As the girls cleared the table they headed for the kitchen.

"Dont worry about your father, he likes people from money, im sure Daryl wont think bad of you" her mother tried to reassure Olivia "does he have to be so rude?" Olivia sighed clanging the plates into the sink "its what he is like darling" her mother sighed back in response.

Her mother poured her father a scotch, his favourite after dinner while Olivia eavesdropped from the kitchen.

"I can make you go away Daryl. I dont want you with my daughter" she heard her father warn Daryl. "A boy like you has no future with a Blake girl" he added making Olivia shake her head as she hid behind the scenes.

"With all due respect Mr Blake, you are right, a boy like me has no future with Olivia and with the seven dollars in my pocket to my name I have nothing to offer her but money cant buy you happiness and Olivia makes me happier than I've ever been and that didnt require a wad of cash or a fancy mansion." Daryl bluntly replied, he knew her father didnt like him and he didnt seem phased by the power her father entailed.

"I'd like you to leave and leave my daughter alone" her father snapped, Olivia heard him get up from his chair and quickly came into the dining room. "Dad!" She cried "no Olivia, enough is enough with your games. Why cant you just be good like your sister? She does as she is told" he snapped whipping his napkin on the table. "Penny doesnt have a life! She is upstairs studying or on the piano! She has no friends no one!" Olivia yelled in reply making her mother come out to see what the commotion was. "I dont have to worry about Penny's future! You only have a chance in life if you marry into money like your mother did" he spoke coldly insulting her, Turning to her mother who had her head down not wanting to anger her father further but Olivia had better ideas.

"Go fuck yourself Dad!" She yelled.

Her father cleared his throat after Olivia's outburst

"Then you can leave with him" he bitterly replied.
