Shane looked guilty but tried to be as casual as possible and Olivia saw straight through it. "Huh?" He played deaf as he licked his lips nervously waiting for her to repeat herself, she narrowed her eyes at him, Shane was the one she had intended to be with forever, sure he was always fancied by other girls and he had a reputation before they even got together but Olivia felt saddened now thinking over everything he had ever said, the times he would brush of his perfume scented shirts, his lateness for a date or his cell phone ringing and him having to leave the room to take. "Dont, dont do that. Dont humour me, call it what it is Shane please" she pleaded with him while she fought back her tear filled eyes. Shane sighed, he knew Olivia knew and no amount of "Princess-ing" her would work, not this time anyway. "Liv, I'm sorry" he whispered as he dropped his shoulders and the gifts onto her bed. He bit the inside of his mouth as he tried to gauge Olivia's response but she didnt speak, she couldnt, its not even as if she was heart broken right now because she wasnt and she hadnt been happy with Shane for a while but it wasnt an excuse for him to treat her like this and whole-heartedly lie to her. Thinking further to herself as Shane continued to stand awkwardly she realised she was living out her dream she once had, to be head cheerleader to date the jock and to be the most popular girl in the school, matter of fact she had realised this wasnt her dream a while back but it was in fact her mother's who was the 'Andrea' in her friendship group. Olivia let out a flat laugh as she shook her head causing Shane to look confused. She didnt love Shane, she probably never did, she loved the idea of Shane.
"What's funny?" Shane asked "nothing" Olivia quipped back, raising her arm and pointing to her door she politely spoke "you can go now Shane" and with that she turned away from him and listened out for him to leave. A weird feeling flew over her, she had just found out her boyfriend, her first boyfriend had been cheating on her their whole relationship and she didnt care, why was that? In TV and books the girl is usually slumped over her bed sobbing at the loss but not Olivia. If anything she now felt free, free from the stereotype she had been living out.
Her phone buzzed and beeped it was all from Lori and Andrea checking she was okay, funnily enough she actually was.
A few from Shane with some sad and upset emojis and a missed call from Rick, probably Shane calling from his cell in hopes Olivia would answer or perhaps Lori had run out of battery with her bombardment of messages.
"Typical Shane" she smirked as she opened the box that had accompanied the flowers, it was a designer bracelet, it was beautiful, she smirked again when she fought the urge to put it on and admire its look on her wrist as she realised how easy she actually was to get back on side, all the times when a rumour would 'fly' around school Shane would be round with a present and she lapped it up everytime.
Sighing she closed the box and placed it on her dressing table ready to hand back to Shane the following day. Her thoughts quickly went to Daryl, would he like that bracelet on her? Would he even care she was thinking that of him right now? Should she phone him to tell him she is now single and wants to make out with him? Wait. What?
Olivia quickly glossed her lips and sprayed some perfume over herself as she grabbed her keys and bounced down the stairs texting Andrea and Lori
Meet me at the mall xox
Without saying bye to her parents, she hopped in her car, cranked the volume and headed to the mall.

"Im really sorry girl about Shane, i really thought you were aware of it all" Lori pleaded holding onto Olivia's arms, Olivia shook her head and told her not to worry "its fine, I feel fine, I really do!" She spoke excitedly. Lori and Andrea both looked confused which Olivia noticed "it is what it is, Shane will never change so what is the point of me staying, being prom King and Queen? Getting married and living unhappily ever after? I dont think so." She added, the girls seemed to accept this but Andrea still looked confused "well, who is going to be prom King?" She asked, the girls stopped in their tracks as Lori looked wide eyed as she wondered "oh my god, who is?" Lori gasped "Liv, you and Shane are always the King and Queen every dance we have!" She added sounding quite panicked at the thought of anyone else "who cares!" Olivia laughed "it means nothing and besides i have what, 15 crowns now, its always the same, you look shocked, go on stage, be applauded and Shane riles up the jocks with a chant" she added brushing the entire affair off. She was stopped from walking off by her friends who still had unanswered questions on this 'urgent' matter "sweetie, you need to find a new King and show Shane up. What if he finds a new Queen and you get, oh my god, de throned!" Andrea revealed, whispering the last part as she placed a hand on her mouth, Olivia rolled her eyes, she had no idea how important this all was to them in the hierarchy of it all. "Maybe you might get a chance this yea Andrea, or you and Rick Lori? You two are cute couple, always have been! What about T? Why cant he be it? Or that girl in History with the gorgeous red hair or someone like Daryl? He has so many amazing qualities and he has had it rough. Actually saying that he wouldnt be interested in a vain event like that" Olivia replied, she turnt to the girls and realised she had begun walking off as she got lost in conversation, she turned back to see them looking open mouthed
"You and Daryl?" Lori quizzed folding her arms and raising an eyebrow
