Olivia swore to herself she wouldnt tell her friends about where Daryl lives, they would go to town ripping him apart for it. She thought there was nothing wrong with it, in fact she betted with herself he had a happier home life than she did.

She picked up a bit of speed on the way home to make sure she was back before her curfew, if she was feeling rebellious she could take the next right and go party with her friends.

As she approached her drive way she saw the downstairs lights on, and her dads car parked by the garage "great" she whispered to herself sarcastically. It wasnt even 9pm but to her dad 8pm was a generous curfew. Locking her car she jiggled her keys until her house key became free from being tangled in the others and opened the front door.

"Hello Olivia" her father called from the large couch in the living room, she couldnt tell what mood he was in by that, she slowly shut the door behind her and proceeded to greet him "Olivia you know your sister has a recital tomorrow, be a little smarter will you! She is asleep!" He snapped standing from the couch shaking his head with disappointment at her, Olivia fought hard with herself to a) not pull a sarcastic face and b) not alert her father it wasnt even 8:45 and what eleven year old is actually asleep? But she resisted.

Clearly being upstairs was a better option tonight but before she made it to the stairs her father spoke "Olivia" he called to her making her close her eyes before turning to fake the best daughter smile she had in her "why are you dressed like that?" He asked pointing to her jeans and hightops, it wasnt really her wardrobe to adorn flat shoes "oh, i just slung these on after cheering, more comfortable" she replied smiling, had her father really noticed her wardrobe change? "You look like a tomboy" he spat looking ashamed of her, Olivia narrowed her eyes. Maybe not then. "Be quiet going upstairs, Penny needs her sleep" he added pointing upstairs with his finger "night dad" she sighed before making her way upstairs, she could easily stomp and sing aloud to wake Penny who probably wasnt even asleep but she didnt, residing in her room was her only option and it was a happier place up there.

After changing in to her nightwear Olivia sat on her bed and opened up her laptop, her home screen was adorned with photos of the group out and about, a selfie Lori took while she and Olivia were on Rick and Shane's shoulders, another a group shot at a party and a selection of selfies Olivia had taken with each of them and the last one made her heart sink, a kissing selfie with Shane. She looked so happy in that photo, like she was on top of the world, she really did love him, but now she was feeling different about everything.

Opening up her facebook she was bombarded with notifications, numerous friend requests, messages and wall posts. Looking at the requests she hoped maybe one would be Daryl but it wasnt, they were from random girls she remembered walking past today in the hallway, all of them desperate to be noticed by Olivia and accepted once cheerleading tryouts start. She typed Daryl's name into the search bar and was surprised to not see anything pop up, nothing at all. Maybe he was able to live a life without social media? He really was different.

About to give up on her scrolling of social media a post by Lori caught her attention, an array of photos of them at The Point tonight, the girls looked hammered and their cheerleading outfits were dishevelled, in the background were the boys who looked just as bad, she laughed to herself when she knew how unfit they will all be tomorrow.

A knock on the door made her close the laptop, it was her father. "What?" She asked, she liked to be left alone when she was in her room "are you coming tomorrow?" He asked leaning into her doorway, she rolled her eyes, he knew full well she wasnt but he just had to test her "i cant, i have cheerleader tryouts to judge" she replied, her dad once again expressed disappointment "your sister is working very hard Olivia how can she know we love and support if the whole family isnt there?" He sighed trying to guilt her "Dad" she tried to voice her reason when he cut her off "no its fine, i'll just tell Penny you have more important things to tend to" he replied bluntly holding his hands up in defeat and closed the door behind him. Sticking her middle finger up at her door was the only way she could one up her father, he didnt really want her there, he wanted to pretend Penny was his only child, she may as well of been. Penny got to do what she wanted, she got to educate herself in private school, embellish in all her talents, she was the one her father would speak proudly of at his work meetings, Olivia got all she had as a way to buy her love, and to think girls were jealous of her.

Getting off the bed, she opened the door and dashed down the stairs to her father who was pouring himself a whiskey. "Dad?" She asked standing gingerly in the hallway "hmm?" He grunted in reply, she moved closer into the room "i'll cancel tryouts, i'll come with you guys" she offered, except she didnt get the reaction she was hoping for, "no dont worry, your plans are more important" he spoke, digging her out, she couldnt win, she knew then for certain it was all words with her father, he really didnt want her there.
