"I asked you a question" Shane spat, Olivia froze on the spot, all her friends looking at her waiting for her to answer "my bike wouldnt start so she offered" Daryl intervened realising that Olivia had in fact not told them a thing and Shane just got a cheap shot with his comment. "Its true, I offered after the game when you all came here to party" Olivia added on nervously. Shane flared his nostrils and shook his head "stay away from her" he warned Daryl as he edged closer to him, Daryl not accepting his warning edged closer too so they were touching chests each pushing the other with them "i think we should leave it now Shane" Rick broke them up causing Shane to whip his hand away "nah man, im outta here, this piece of shit will regret the day he crossed me" Shane spoke eyeing up Daryl intimidatingly before giving him one last barge and paced away from the group. Olivia watched him leave and watched Daryl roll his eyes as if Shane was pathetic, which he was a little bit. Rick gave a small awkward smile "i best go after him" he muttered and along with TDog hopped in his truck ready to pull away before Lori followed looking at Olivia with confusion at how she was being. Olivia tutted and folded her arms "you can go too Andrea" she sighed knowing she was standing behind her nervous at what to do next, Andrea of course ran up ahead to catch up with the others and hopped into Rick's car that was starting to pull away.
Daryl and Olivia stood awkwardly watching them drive away "great" she sighed making Daryl look back at her "sorry, I thought maybe you had...usually what starts all the shit at the other schools" Daryl apologised "dont worry, Shane was going to start on you regardless" Olivia huffed sitting down on crossed legs on the ground facing away from where the group left, Daryl huffed as he sat next to her, pulling out a cigarette for them both "well im glad you invited me for that" he said sarcastically making her laugh which made him laugh too, Olivia smiled seeing him chuckle for the first time "Sorry, i thought if he got to know you then maybe, oh never mind" she sighed taking a long drag of the cigarette.
They sat in silence for a while each glancing at the other smiling awkwardly and both going to say something and then stopping themselves "im hungry, wanna grab something to eat?" Daryl asked standing up dusting himself off he lent out a hand to help Olivia up which she took "there isnt many places to go we are meant to be at school" she brushed his suggestion off, Daryl scratched his head as he tried to think of something else to do "wanna just head back and suffer detention?" He offered reluctantly, Olivia nodded defeated, it really was their only option, as they got into the car Olivia sighed "shame my dad's home we could of gone there and had lunch" she spoke turning her head to reverse out and away from The Point "we could go to my place? My folks arnt home and my brother is away" Daryl suggested, Olivia felt uneasy about it but she didnt want to head back to school "dont worry it looks like a palace inside" he teased and she nodded as they headed to Daryl's.
Pulling up Olivia felt nervous leaving such an expensive car in a trailer park but didnt make it noticeable to Daryl, clutching her bag to her chest she carefully climbed the few steps leading to his door, she grimaced as he lifted up the doormat revealing plenty of bugs and dirt as he traced the door key. "Ladies first" he smiled allowing her to go inside. Stepping in gingerly she was hit with the instant whiff of musk, cannabis and something she couldnt quite put her finger on, she made herself snap out of her snobbi-ness "this is...nice" she smiled "my folks live like pigs but my room is okay" he said pointing down the hall "oh?" Olivia asked a bit taken back by his forwardness, once Daryl realised how he had come across he blushed bright red and tried to act normal "i didnt mean like that, i just meant, i just meant if you wanted to sit" he added on cringing at himself. She laughed to reassure him "just through here?" She asked walking down the small living room towards two doors pointing to his room in question.
Brushing off the dust from his chest of drawers she carefully placed her bag down and studied his room, for a trailer it seemed pretty big, it had two small beds, both covers dishevelled and had seen better days, a tall wardrobe with a door half shut due to something blocking it, sitting on what she thought was Daryl's bed she was made jump by him entering carrying two non matching glasses with juice in. "Oh thats Merle's bed" he mentioned pointing to what is his bed as Olivia switched "Merle your brother?" She asked sipping the juice that she discovered tasted slightly past its use by date "yea he has just joined the military so he is hardly home now" Daryl nodded in reply "how long you lived here?" She asked looking at the posters adorning the walls "since I was born, we just move a lot" he replied, Olivia felt saddened, like herself Daryl knew no different on how other people lived. "Me too, with my place that is" she smiled taking another sip seemingly getting used to its taste. "You got a girlfriend?" She asked deepening the conversation, Daryl played with his glass nervously "no" he replied gulping, Olivia narrowed her eyes "what not ever?" She asked, something about how he was acting made her want to know more "oh yea ive had some, just not now" he spoke clearing his throat taking their glasses and leaning them on the window sill. "How long you been with Shane?" He asked, this time it was her turn for the personals "a year, just over a year" she replied sighing "dont seem happy about it" he judged by her reaction. Olivia ignored his comment and paused for a moment and gathered her thoughts, "do you ever wanna be somewhere else? Start a new life from scratch, forget all the people in your life? And just, just be who you want to be not who you are made to be?" She asked, not particularly expecting him to respond, she was merely rambling aloud "all the tine" he replied meeting her eye line.
