"Well why was I not good enough for my own boyfriend to stay faithful?!" Olivia spoke tearfully, she felt embarrassed for letting herself get upset when it was such a lovely place, like tears shouldnt exist there. Daryl sighed, he wasnt expecting it to turn like this "guys like Shane dont know what they have until its gone" he admitted making Olivia smile as she composed herself "then why do you do it?" She asked, she never thought he would be into one night situations. Daryl didnt answer, instead he looked awkward and ready for the ground to swallow him.
"C'mon, we should get back" he held his arm out for her to take which she reluctantly did. "Yea, you are right, I need to talk to Shane, I have to know whats been going on." Olivia sighed, Daryl gave her a weak smile he was concerned for her, and as much as he disliked Shane and could see through him, she couldnt not just yet anyway and he didnt want to upset her further.
Olivia rested her head on his back as they rode back to his place, it was peaceful, she felt safe being with him. She really didnt want to go back but they couldnt stay there forever.
"You going to talk to Shane or?" Daryl trailed off as they pulled up at the trailer park by her car. "I guess so" she replied, smiling weakly "anyway, thanks for last night and today, it was really nice" she added pulling him into a hug . "Guess after this we go back to normal at school?" Daryl asked with deep puppy dog eyes and a slight raised eyebrow. Olivia thought for a moment, she was too concerned with Shane and going back home to pay attention to what Daryl had said but she gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek and unlocked her car waving him goodbye.
Olivia exhaled deeply as she pondered what to do, was Shane even sorry? How was her father going to be seeing as she made no contact with home in near on 24 hours? And would her friends be able to shed any light on Shane and the other girl? And why when she was thinking of this did Daryl keep springing to her mind?
Pulling into her driveway she felt a sense of dread loom over her, it wained when she noticed her parents cars were not in sight so she could at least get in the doorway in peace.
Maybe not.
"Olivia darling!" Her father exclaimed swinging the door open to greet his now confused daughter "im having the cars valeted and your mother and Penny are at your grandmother's for the weekend" he finished giving her what she saw as a put on smile. He welcomed her inside with open arms but she put distance between them, time alone with her father who despised her and bought her forgiveness was her idea of hell.
Heading up to her room she hastily phoned Lori as she opened her bedroom door, slowly taking the phone from her ear she took in the sight of shopping bags on her bed, large shopping bags. Victoria Secrets, Forever 21, Abercrombie & Fitch, Michael Kors, she quickly disconnected the call and looked inside each bag, from clothes to makeup to two brand new handbags she knew they were all apology presents from her father, it was easier for him to do this than to actually say the word "sorry". There was a gentle knock on the door, rolling her eyes she grunted to grant her father access to enter "do you like your presents?" He asked smiling with achievement, Olivia fake smiled, this was the best she would ever get from her father, arguing with him for a proper apology wouldnt work and with his quick fire temper that she had felt the past few days she darent risk it "thanks daddy" she spoke getting it all out of the bags to show her appreciation. "Why dont you and Shane go out to a movie or something tonight?" He suggested pulling a wad of cash from his wallet, he clearly still felt guilty about his actions and Olivia felt like milking it and took the cash before he left her alone.
Suddenly feeling dirty by taking the money she sighed and shoved it into her bag knowing she would never get him to see what she really wanted in life, a decent father who paid her attention and not with material goods. Picking her phone up again she phoned Lori.
"Liv where you been? Me and Andrea have been trying to get hold of you all yesterday" Lori sounded worried
"I just hung with Daryl" Olivia sighed waiting for her friend to dramatically inhale over the phone
"No way! You are kidding right? The loser from The Point?!" Lori squealed in disbelief down the phone.
"Yes way Lori and leave him alone he is really nice when you get to know him and besides me and Shane had a major fight turns out he has been sleeping with another girl" Olivia spoke saddened down the phone in hopes of venting to her friend
Lori went silent
Olivia went to continue in order to explain better the goings on when Lori spoke again
"I aways thought you knew deep down what was going on honey, I mean it is what you guys fight about right?" Lori questioned
"Of course I didnt know Im not a sell out!" Olivia huffed "I knew he had a wandering eye but I never knew he acted on it, I just wanna know who she is" she added twirling her hair as she spoke.
"I know one night when you guys had a fight he went off with Hayley but that was like last year!" Lori confessed, Olivia gulped when she heard, she never really knew for sure about Hayley but always had her doubts "besides Hayley left last summer, the girls now he just goes with every chance he can" Lori added on
Olivia nearly dropped her phone in shock "girls?? And you knew the whole time??" She spat back sounding angry
Lori stammered on the other line "Rick told me, he made me swear never to tell you im so sorry!" She whimpered but Olivia cut her off "Rick is more important than me? We have been friends way longer! i cant believe you let me go around thinking I had a faithful boyfriend! I wasted my virginity on him!" She screamed.
"Yea but didnt you like? Lose it last summer? whats the biggie? you guys were good then when you think about it" Lori spoke trying to defuse the situation
"Shane is a liar we never lost it last year it was last week! He may off but I never!" She snapped cutting the call off.
Launching her phone across the room she proceeded to rip every photo of her and Shane from the wall as she cried.
There was a knock on the door "go away Dad, please" she begged not wanting to speak to anyone when the door opened. "Can I come in Princess?" Shane spoke sheepishly as he peered his head round brandishing a large bouquet of flowers and neatly wrapped long box.
Olivia turned to face him not embarrassed to show her tear stained cheeks "how many girls Shane? Be honest" she whispered as guilt showed all across his face.
