It had been a few days since the full moon incident, and you were feeling much better. The boys had been a big help and had put you on bed rest until today. You weren't complaining though. They practically catered to your every whim as their way if saying that they were sorry. Today though, you needed to have a talk with them about how your dating plans would work out.
The four of you were currently in the kitchen making breakfast. Oliver was making his own breakfast of cupcakes, oddly enough, as well as a bowl of strawberries with powdered sugar on top. Matt and Luciano were watching you cook theirs and your breakfast, which was pancakes. Both of the boys had heard of them but, Matt had never seen them before. Both of them wanted to try them naturally. You weren't sure how their digestive systems would handle pancakes since Luciano said he only ever ate meat and some fruits on occasion and Matt's species consisted of strictly omnivores. You told them thug if they got sick from it it would be on them because they wanted them. You decided on cutting up fruit for them to put on top of their pancakes when they were done.
Oliver handed you the strawberry container, Which he had already washed, and you cut up about three handfuls of the plump red berries between flipping pancakes and taking them off of the griddle. You ended up using two full containers of strawberries between the four of you, which didn't surprise you in the slightest way. You grabbed a container of blueberries next and washed them. When Luciano thought you weren't looking, he swiped a piece of a strawberry and ate it. You saw it of course with your peripheral vision and gave him a small yet playful glare. He gave you a small grin and turned your head to face him, giving you a small peck on the lips before moving away to let you continue preparing breakfast.
You blushed a bit, which earned Luciano small glares from Matt and Oliver. Luciano could only smirk. You shook your head, trying to clear your thoughts as you worked on making a homemade strawberry and blueberry compote to use as a topping for the pancakes. You put the water, halved strawberries, whole blueberries, lemon juice and sugar into a pot before putting them on the stove on a medium heat setting. You mushed them up a bit, then put a lid on until the mixture came to a simmer. Matt and Oliver had distracted themselves with idle chitchat while Luciano hovered about you while you continued to cook. He could faintly smell the aroma coming from the pot. He went over to it and lifted off the lid to look at the pot's contents.
"This smells wonderful gattina. How do you- GAH!"
There was a clattering sound as the metal lid hit the ground. It alarmed both you, Matt, and Oliver. You all looked at Luciano, who had his head engulfed by a bluish white slime looking substance. He was freaking out of course and trying to get it off. It took awhile, but the three of you somehow managed to get the gelatinous substance off of Luciano, who proceeded to faint from lack of oxygen. Matt was kind enough to drag Luciano into the living room and onto the couch. You turned off stove and removed the pot. You'd have to finish it later, but you were satisfied that the pancakes were at least done. You prepared a bowl of cool water and a rag before bringing it out to the naga. After dampening the rag, you placed it on Luciano's forehead. He shivered a bit unconsciously, but stayed still other than that. You draped a blanket over him as you knelt by his side.
"What was that thing?" you asked Matt, who was staying in the room with you while Oliver checked on his cupcakes.
"A slime," he replied simply as he crossed his arms over his chest. "There are species that human society refuses to acknowledge or are completely unknown to them. Slimes are among that list of species."
"I see, but how did it get in the pot?"
"I'm not sure. Slimes are tricky creatures, but not much are known about them. I promise to you thought that I will let nothing harm you!"
