"Mom?" I cry out.

I hear a rustling noise replace the lump I assume is my mother. I call out to her again. No response. A tear slips down my cheek. I walk out of her room and quietly towards my own. I hear the usual buzzing of the television coming from down stairs. I hope with all of my might that my father is still sleeping.

I pull my door open, small wrists clicking with the action. Something seems off. I try not to think anything of it. I shut the door quickly in order to keep out creepy crawlers, or in this case creepy crawler. I jump on my bed and burrow into the blankets.

I think it's been five minutes when something really doesn't feel right. Bile rises into the back of my throat and my heart races.

Shuffle.

My hair stands on end.

Shuffle.

That didn't come from me.

Shuffle.

"Sweet dreams, Cadey."
