Chapter Thirty

Niall's Point of View

When Cadence called me, urging me over, I knew it had to be bad. I just didn't expect to see what I did.

I know that Cadence will deny for as long as she can that she had nothing to do with what happened with Harry, but she had to have. Harry's track record with women isn't too great as it is, so I really wouldn't be surprised.

I tried to coax the truth out of him but he remained unresponsive. We really need to snap him out of this before Cade comes home with Darcy.

I have a feeling that last nights er..events had something to with what's going on right now but I don't know what role it played. I can't help but feel bad for Harry, I know that if I hadn't have pressured him, he might not be in this situation.

Halo walks back into the living room.

She's been going in and out of Harry's room all morning trying to see if there's anything she can do. As opposed to this as I was --I know how bad Harry's past was with women and it still amazes me that he can live with two of them-- she's been the most successful.

"Have you got anything new?" Elly asks. She's sat opposite of me, her legs tucked under herself.

"No. I doubt we will." Halo says. She hasn't looked in my direction once since Cadence left.

"Well we have to do something!" Elly says, raising her voice.

I sigh. " She's doing all she can, Elly. He'll snap out of it, okay?"

She shakes her head and crosses her arms over her chest.

I look up at Halo to find her eyes already cast in my direction. She sends a small smile my way and I'm so shocked that I almost forget to return the favor. She bites her lip before turning around and walking into Harry's room.

She comes running into the living room not even a minute later.

"He's up!" She says.

My eyes widen and a smile takes over my face. Before I give myself time to think, I scoop Halo up and twirl her. I thank her over and over.

Then I think.

I put her down quickly.

I apologize to her, over and over.

She tells me that it's okay.

"Can I talk to you?" I say to her.

She nods.

I take her hand and walk with her into the kitchen.

"I'm sorry." We both say.

She laughs and runs a hand through her hair.

"You first." We say again.

"Agh! Okay, sorry." She says.

"It's alright."

"No it's really not. It's your sister and I shouldn't have stuck my nose where it doesn't belong. You'll tell her when you're ready." She says.

"No, you were fine. I should've told her sooner. I guess I just didn't realize that if anyone knows about secrets, it's you right?"
