Cadence's Point of View
I run a hand through my hair.
I huff in frustration.
"Is...everything okay?" I hear Halo call tentatively.
"Um. Yeah."
"Okay.. well I'm here y'know--"
I turn around, my eyes widening in surprise.
"Oh, Halo. You-you don't have to do that." I let out a puff of air. "I should be the one asking if you're okay..."
"Oh.. I'm fine.."
I raise my eyebrows at her but decide that she'll fess up if she wants to.
"So.. what were you guys fighting about anyway?"
"Uh...well...you.."
This takes me by surprise.
"What?"
"We got into a fight..about you."
"Oh?"
They got into a fight over me? Why? I wonder what about...
"Um..yeah. It's what ever. I..I think I'm kind of done crying over Niall..for now at least.."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Um I was actually going to ask you--"
"Go ahead."
"Maybe we could go out?"
"Of c--wait.."
I'm about to say yes when I remember Harry's explicit warning of keeping her in the house.
Keep her safe... was written in between the lines.
But Harry isn't here right now.
"What? I mean we don't- we don't have to..."
"No. Um I was just gonna say that I didn't have a sitter for the girls.."
"Do you have a friend who could watch them? I mean.. they're both sleeping so.."
"Yeah... Um actually I think I have the pefect person in mind."
She nods her head, says she's gonna get ready.
I dial Louise's number.
There's an answer on the first ring.
"The hell you want?" I hear Elly say.
"Not you."
"Eh hem. Rude!"
"If I wanted to speak with you, I would've called your phone.."
"Yeah, yeah. What you need, hmm?"
"I was wondering if Lou could watch Darcy and --"
I hear Louise enter the room.
Elly has me on speaker.
"Who's that?" She calls.
"Cade. She wants you to babysit."
