Cadence's Point of View

RECAP

""Well it doesn't have anything to do with you ......exactly.."

"But.."

"But.. It has everything to do with you being Niall's sister..."

She's silent.

I think she wants me to continue.

"It's got nothing to do with you and Niall...but everything to do with your relationship."

"What do you mean by that?" I ask hesitantly.

"It uh...Niall wants us to keep you out of the loop to protect you, Cade."

"But why, Harry? Why? I don't understand! Me and Niall barely met! We barely talk and he thinks he can protect me?"

"I understand where you're coming from, Cade. Honestly, I do. But if you understood the circumstances....you'd want to be protected."

"See this is exactly what I'm talking about! I'm sick of it! What are the circumstnaces I'm not allowed to know about?"

"I ....I can't tell you. It's not my place to over step." 

"Agh! I don't even think I want to talk to you any more. You just keep beating around the bush."

"Do you even realize how selfish you're being?" He says.

"W-what? Me, being selfish?! Harry, you won't even tell me about my 'relationship' with Niall all because he told you not to. I think he's the--"

"That's enough Cadence." Harry says sternly. " I don't think you know enough about your brother to be calling him selfish. If anything, he's being extremely selfless by helping you out."

"See, this is what I mean! I don't know anything about him--"

"Exactly. So that means yo don't know how his break up with Halo is really tearing him apart right now. You don't know how hard he's taken it. You don't know anything, Cade. Stop acting like you do."

"I know some things Harry!" I say in a weak attempt to prove him wrong. Unfortunantely, it comes across as childish as it sounds.

"Like what."

"W-well..uh--" This idea sounded better in my head. I think I may have disregarded the fact that I really knew nothing.

Harry laughs. The bitter sound ringing in my ears. "That's what I thought. You really should learn when to keep your mouth shut Cadence. This isn't America. People don't like it when you stick your big ass in their business."

I don't know what to say. Harry's demeaning tone has me surprised. This isn't the person I met two years ago. 

"Look, I got to go. I think your brother fell asleep in the bath."

"Huh?"

"Long story. Any way, lock all the doors and don't let Halo out of the house. I don't care what she says, do not let her leave."

"O-okay.."I respond.

He already hung up.
