Growing up around these boys was probably not the best for me as a young girl. Unlike the other girls, I did not scrub and maintain my tail every other hour so it would keep its shine. I didn't go around with delicately designed seaweed in my hair. Instead of creating intricate hairstyles to keep my unruly hair in place, I let it free. I loved the waves on my hair and how the water runs through it whenever I swam.

The seven boys, well, they made me into who I am today. Mark taught me the importance of listening instead of always talking all the time. Like Jae Bum, I can be stubborn and strict at times. Other days I'm mature and yet rude like Jinyoung who loves to make fun of the others. Also, I get my odd but outside-the-box thinking from Jackson. People say when I'm around Youngjae, we're both the sunshines the ocean is missing and BamBam taught me how to be friendly with everyone. Yugyeom on the other hand, well he always cared and protected me. As the youngest he's fun to tease because he's so innocent but I realized that he often looks ahead and at the future.

This morning I left the cave without telling mother. I am a lot older than I was before. Soon I'll be 16 years old. Being free spirited, the shipwreck looked mysteriously inviting. Strange aren't I? But it was like something about it called out to me. The wondrous things that can only be seen if we open our eyes and stop being so afraid. There were items that used to be the treasures of man. I swam around admiring everything. Then from the corner of my eye, I saw a gleaming light. I reached out to grab it unknowingly and as soon as my hands reached out, I drew it back. The small silver item had slit the skin of my palm and before I knew it, my blood dispersed through the water. It called forth an unwanted presence that lurked in the shadows. Although adorned with a beautiful gray coat, the big shark readily swam towards me, ready to swallow me whole. My body didn't react though it should have. I was too scared to move.

"Y/N!"

He swam full speed at me and grabbed my wrist, pulling me with him. My tail started to flap as I finally got my head in the right place.

"Swim away from me!" I shouted to him.

"No way!"

"It's only after me. I'm bleeding so swim away from me!"

"I said no!"

His grip was stronger now as he swam faster. But never underestimate a hungry shark.

"Trust me! I got this!" I screamed to him.

He ignored me, never turning his head back to even look at me.

We came to a small opening of an underwater cave. He pushed me inside quickly.

"Stay. Don't come out," he said sternly.

I did was I was told. He was always helping me whenever I was in danger and yet I never did anything for him. I peeked out from the small opening and saw his back, covering me. I couldn't see beyond his back. Twenty seconds later, he turned back to me, holding his hand out to me. I took it as he helped me out.

"Here, let me wrap it for you," he said.

"Yugyeom, I'm sorry," I said embarrassed.

"You should be. You could've been seriously hurt," he said while wrapping my palm with blue seaweed.

"I know. But I was more worried about you. How did you get rid of the shark?" I asked.

"It doesn't matter. Does it hurt?" he asked kindly.

"No, not anymore," I said.

"This is why I told you to never go alone," he added.

"I know...but I didn't want to keep bothering you. I feel bad."

"If you feel bad asking me then are we real friends?" he asked.

"...."

"Exactly. Start relying on me more," he added.

"But if you get hurt because of me, I won't ever forgive myself," I said.

"If you get hurt, I won't forgive myself too," he said.

"You're the best Yugyeom," I said as I wrapped my arms around him.

Yugyeom's P.O.V.

She's always grabbing me for a hug but I'm still not used to it. Every time she does so, my heart beats too fast. I cleared my throat.

"It's okay. Don't mention it," I said.

She lets go and smiled sweetly.

"Yugyeomie-ah let's keep what happened a secret from the others okay?" she asked adorably.

"Why? Scared they'll lecture you too?" I asked.

"Um no...I'd just rather they don't know," she said with a lifeless chuckle.

I chuckled at her actions.

"Okay. Our secret," I said.

She jumped for another hug.

"Thank you! See you're the best Gyeomie!" she said.

This girl. Even though she was a year older than me, she acts like a little kid. Maybe because I see her as my little sister that I always feel the need to protect her. Yeah, that's probably it.
