The Savior and the Prince// Yugyeom & Jimin

Trouble

I walked out and towards Jimin. To my surprise he didn't run off scared. In fact he looked quite amused.

"My mother was right. Mermaids do exist," he said.

"Please don't tell anyone!" I begged.

He looked at me up and down.

"Would I do that to my only friend? You can go back home you know. I won't say a word to anyone," he said.

"You promise?"

"A prince always keeps his word but you have come whenever I want you to," he said smiling.

"Um Jimin...I can't go home," I said.

"Why?"

"See once a human finds out your true identity, you lose your tail. Until I grant you your greatest wish then I can't go home," I said.

"A wish? Why?"

"It seals the deal. A wish in return for you not being able to say a word about me. It's a magical deal," I explained.

"Well I don't have anything I want or feel I must wish for," he said.

"Surely there's something," I said.

"Sorry I don't have a wish," he said.

"But I need to go home," I said.

"Okay then I wish for you to be able to go home," he said.

I closed my eyes and waited. Nothing.

"Was that your greatest deepest wish?" I asked.

"I'm not sure. I just wanted to help you out," he said.

"It has to be the wish you want the most in the world," I said.

I was scared. For once in my life I was truly afraid.

"I wish Yugyeom was here," I said as I started to cry.

Just then Forte, my dolphin friend jumped out of the water.

"Y/N! Come with me," said Forte.

"I'm sorry Y/N. Give me some time. I'll be back tomorrow. I'm sure I'll figure something out," he said.

"It's okay. I trust you. Please be back tomorrow with your greatest wish figured out," I said.

"I promise."

And with that I went back into the water. Even without a tail I could still breathe underwater.

"Y/N! Yugyeom sent me to find you," said Forte.

"Where is he?" I asked.

"On his way. I sent him a signal already," said Forte.

I hugged Forte and held onto him for strength. A few minutes later Yugyeom appeared.

"Gyeomie!" I shouted.

"Y/N! Your tail!"

"I know I'm sorry. I didn't mean to," I started to cry.

He grabbed me into his arms and held my head to his chest.

"It's okay. We'll figure this out together," he said.

"It's all my fault."

"No it's not. I should've kept my eyes on you better," he said.

After I calmed down we went somewhere safe to talk.

"Who saw you?" he asked.

"A boy. Jimin is his name," I said.

"Did you offer to grant his wish?"

"Yes but he didn't have one," I said.

"Most humans wish for money or love. He didn't make one?"

"No he tried wishing me home but since it wasn't a wish his heart truly yearned for, it didn't work," I said.

"Where did he go?" asked Yugyeom.

"It was getting dark. He went home and I came with Forte. But he promised to come back tomorrow with his wish," I said.

"Okay. Then until tomorrow I'll stay here with you," Yugyeom said.

"Really?"

"Yes. You can't go back like that and you can't stay the night here alone either."

I was so happy I hugged him.

"Thank you Yugyeom. You're always saving me," I said.

Forte stayed with us as well. We found a good place to stay and slept. Yugyeom was already asleep next to me. I looked at him. I was thankful and sometimes I felt like I owed him my life. I studied his every feature.

Wait what are you doing Y/N?

I blushed and quickly turned around. I slept with my back to him.

He's just like your little brother nothing more, I thought to myself.

I closed my eyes and fell asleep while holding onto Forte.
