Monday Morning 10:00am
Dinah's POV
How could this be? Our song sounds nothing like their song. If anything, they were relevant before us, right? We have got to get this figured out, we also need a lawyer.
Five minutes before court
"How could our song possibly sound like theirs? It just came out! This is bogus!" Normani argued, as I sympathetically shrug my shoulders and sigh. Man, two days into this and we are already claimed for stealing another band's song? That's bull shit, in the most bullshitty way😂😡.
"Well luckily, I have an attorney. She's really good and has been on some of the most serious cases. Her name is Billie Eilish." Camila said. Ally sighs, "hope she is good as you say she is," she responds unconvincingly. "Me too." Camila answered, crossing her arms sitting back as the case began.
"I also heard they've got the second best attorney, Debby Ryan. Wow can this get any worse?" Normani argued, while sitting back in her brown chair. We all just sit back and play this first day of court out as good as we possibly can.
"All rise! We have Fifth Harmony vs. Little Mix in the case of plagiarism. Judge Taylor Swift will take the stand now." The female bailiffs says then everyone starts to sit down again. Lauren starts to gasp, and we all knew exactly why.
Lauren and Taylor used to go to middle school together. Then, Taylor spreads a rumor about Lauren, which caused a altercation. Then Taylor moved. Now she is our judge, decreasing our chances of winning this case.
"Well, well well, if it isn't another one of these cases. Can't you guys come up with your own stuff? Plus, where are you guys' attorneys?" She says, reading the folder gave to her by the bailiff. After that, two young women, lunge in to the court doors. It was Attorney Eilish and Attorney Ryan.
Then, Debby starts to speak. "I call Dinah Jane Hansen first to the stand." She says, with the smartest smirk on her face. I gave her a look and walk onto the stand.
"When was "Work From Home" created?" Debby asks as she emphasizes the title of the song. "About two to three weeks ago. It wasn't really published until two days ago." I replied randomly.
"Have you ever heard of Little Mix's new song yet?" She asks, I shook my head in response. She nodded her head and continued. "Ms. Hansen, we heard that you are an ex of one girl group's member, is that right? Also isn't the way your vibrato easily slides into you parts have a lot of similarities to hers?" She said to me, all I could do was stare and nod.
Tried to speak but, nothing.
"So when I heard you in the second pre-chorus of y'all song, your line sounded exactly like hers. The vibrato was just a little different though in their song. So, it was like you attempted to sound like her." She says to me, I felt as if she was being smart. So I managed to say some words. "Well first of all, I don't want to sound nothing like her. The only reason you may think that is if your ears are way too close to the speaker. We weren't even thinking about them, we were thinking about the music and our careers. How can you say we're stealers so fast when we've never even heard the song before? I feel this case was rushed." I said, I probably didn't make much sense but I didn't care. They hand us a slip on Friday talking about plagiarism, when we've never even heard the damn song. "You know what? No further questions, your honor. But I'd like to call up the songwriter of this hit up to the stand. Normani Kordei Hamilton was it?" She says to the judge. The judge smirks and nods. They are some real bitches up in this courthouse.
I look back at Normani, my girlfriend is over there nervous. Let's hope this goes well.
New chap bishes. Hope you like. Bye!
