Thea awoke the next morning to Bellamy shouting into her tent. All she could make out in her half-asleep state was, "Octavia. Missing. Get up!"
It took her a moment to process those words as she sat there, her face confused and sleepy. When she did process them however, she was up in a flash.
Getting dressed and tucking her knife into her belt, she bolted out of the tent to find most of the camp already awake and circled around Bellamy who was handing out weapons.
"...been out there alone for twelve hours. Arm up. We're not coming back without her."
Thea assumed he was talking about Octavia.
"What happened? Where is she?" Thea asked Bellamy who was still handing out weapons to the camp.
"I don't know. No one's seen her since yesterday," he turned to her as the rest of the camp dispersed to get ready, "Thea, I have to find her. I can't lose her too."
Thea didn't know exactly what he meant by that but she could see the desperation in his eyes and she nodded.
"Of course. We'll find her," Bellamy nodded but he didn't look convinced.
"Bellamy," he looked at her, "We'll do whatever it takes to find her, I promise. We won't let anything happen to her."
Bellamy nodded and she saw a genuine look of gratitude in his eyes as she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around him. He stiffened for a moment, raising one arm to pat her shoulder awkwardly before she released him.
Clearing his throat and walking away, Bellamy shouted to the rest of the camp, "Alright, let's get moving. We don't have any time to waste."
It was still dark out as the group started their trek. They had only been walking for about twenty minutes when everyone was suddenly pointing at the sky.
"Look how beautiful it is," someone said.
"Oh no," Thea muttered as she saw the hundreds of what looked like shooting stars raining down from the sky.
"It didn't work. They didn't see the flares," Raven said in dismay.
"A meteor showers tells you that?" Bellamy asked.
"It's not a meteor shower, it's a funeral," Thea said, her voice cracking.
"Hundreds of bodies being returned to Earth from the Ark. This is what it looks like from the other side," Clarke said solemnly, "They didn't get our message."
"This is all because of you!" Raven charged at Bellamy.
"I helped you find the radio," he countered, taking a step away from the angry girl.
"Yeah after you jacked it from my pod and trashed it!"
"Yeah, he knows," Clarke said calmly, looking Bellamy directly in the eyes, "And now he has to live with it."
Bellamy's face hardened, "All I know is that my sister is out there and I'm gonna find her," he stalked off.
Thea sighed, looking at Clarke who nodded reluctantly as the two girls, followed by the others, followed after him.
Thea walked a short ways behind Bellamy as he continued through the forest. She noticed Raven and Clarke branch off from the group but she didn't question it. They knew what they were doing and she was sure whatever it was, it was important.
The group came upon a steep hill. Looking down, someone yelled, "Look. Down there. Is that Octavia's?"
A rope was thrown down and Bellamy held onto it to help him down. When he reached he object, he examined it.
