Unity Day. Thea had always hated Unity Day. Her mother had told her from the very beginning that Unity Day was a lie.

The Ark claimed that it was a day of celebration, to remember the fateful day that the twelve stations had come together to create the Ark.

But some people knew better. There had originally been thirteen stations. And in order for the Ark to be united, station thirteen had been obliterated. Many people died in the events that followed but no one ever bothered to mention that on Unity Day.

And so Thea wasn't particularly a fan of the holiday. That, and she had never celebrated anything since her mother's death. Planning holidays had been her mother's favorite thing and Thea simply couldn't bring herself to face the past and celebrate once again.

So as as Jaha spoke on the screen, Thea tuned him out. Thinking instead about what they were going to do about the grounders. Surely they would attack in retaliation for what they had done. And when they did, they needed to be ready.

Suddenly, someone was cheering and everyone turned to see Jasper holding something above his head. Thea chuckled as he yelled in excitement about his and Monty's Unity juice.

She walked over to the excited boy, patting him on the back as he poured drinks for everyone.

"Back to old habits, I see," she teased the boy.

"Oh shut up and have a drink," he shoved a cup into her hand, filling it with whatever concoction he had made.

Thea rolled her eyes but took a sip of the bitter liquid, smiling as she walked away.

As night fell and the party continued, Thea noticed Finn quietly slipping out of camp. Bored, she decided to follow him.

"Finn. Hey, Finn," she called out in a loud whisper to get the boy's attention.

Finn whipped around, relaxing when he realized it was just her.

"What're you doing out here? It's dangerous," he scolded.

"I could say the same to you," she chided.

He laughed, rolling his eyes, "Fine, I'm going for a walk. Care to join me?" he held out his arm for her to link hers through.

"I thought you'd never ask," she laughed, linking their arms.

Thea pulled Finn along behind her as she skipped along. She'd been under too much stress lately and the fact that she was a little tipsy didn't help either. Finn just laughed at her, muttering about how drunk she was.

Their fun was cut short, however when they came upon two figures in a small clearing. Before either of them could react, Octavia's voice rang out, calling their names and a knife was held to Thea's throat.

"Lincoln!" Octavia called out as the grounder held Thea against his chest, the knife pressed under her chin.

"Woah, you could at least buy me dinner first." Thea chuckled, her eyes widening when the man pressed the knife harder against her skin.

Finn pulled out his own knife, pointing it towards the grounder as Octavia tried to talk him down. Finn took a step forward but the grounder only pressed the sharp object harder against her throat and took a step back, silently telling Finn to stay back.
