Thea sat on the second level on the dropship. She was in the process of making gunpowder for the mines they were setting up just outside the camp. Since Bellamy still wouldn't allow her to do any of the heavy lifting, she had decided to ask Jasper to teach her how to make gunpowder so she could at least be somewhat useful.

She heard two male voices talking downstairs but she didn't pay them any mind until Jasper ascended the ladder. He sent her a strained smile and she could tell that he was worried about their missing friends.

Letting out a sigh, he sat next to her. She placed a hand on his shoulder.

"It'll be okay, Jasper. We'll find them."

He let out a sharp breath of air, "Not if Bellamy never lets us leave this damn camp."

Thea sighed, "He's doing what he thinks is best, Jasper. And right now, as much as I hate to say it, we have to focus on this or we won't be prepared when the Grounders come. It won't do Clarke, Finn and Monty any good if they come back to find us all dead."

"I guess you're right. It just sucks, knowing they might be dead and we didn't even try to save them."

"They're not dead. It's Clarke and Finn and Monty, they always survive. One way or another, we're going to get them back here alive, okay?"

Jasper nodded his head solemnly, "Okay."

"Alright. Now get your lazy ass over here and help me make this gunpowder."

Jasper laughed as he began piling together the supplies. They talked about random things as they worked: what they missed from the Ark, real food, hot showers, the list went on. But of course, there were many things they didn't miss from the home they once knew. They had been prisoners, after all.

They stopped their conversation abruptly when they heard a commotion downstairs.

"We should go see what that is," Jasper said, standing up.

Thea nodded, following the boy as he climbed down. Jasper froze on the ladder and Thea turned to see what he was looking at. It was Murphy. He was standing over the injured kid, Myles, looking suspicious as he shifted something away from the boy's face.

"He stopped breathing. I was trying to help him," Murphy explained, out of breath.

Jasper nodded, coming the rest of the way down the ladder with Thea following. Suddenly, the two boys lunged for the gun lying on the table nearby. Thea jumped down the last rung of the ladder and rushed to help Jasper. But it was too late. Murphy reached the gun first, cocking it and pointing it at Thea and Jasper as they froze.

Jasper held out his hand slowly, trying to calm the boy while he used the other to push Thea behind him.

"Murphy," she called out quietly, trying to peek around the tall boy in front of her.

Jasper refused to let her move, however, keeping her shielded behind his own body as he held her back with one arm.

"Just put the gun down," Jasper tried to pursued the boy.

Murphy held the gun tighter in his grip, looking over at the dead boy laying on the cot.

"He tried to kill me," he said.

Jasper took a glance at the unmoving body of Myles, quickly taking a few steps backwards and pushing Thea with him.

"Hey, don't move!" Murphy threatened as he pointed the gun at Jasper's chest again.

"Okay, okay," Jasper agreed, trying to stay calm. "It's cool."

Thea noticed the radio clipped to the back of Jasper's jeans. Trying not to draw any attention to herself, she quietly slipped the device from the boy, holding it where Murphy couldn't see. She pressed the button that allowed anyone on the other side to hear what was being said, crossing her fingers that someone was listening.
