Thea awoke to the sound of an explosion. She sat up quickly, realizing that her head no longer felt like it was made of concrete.

Getting up as fast as she could, she rushed outside, stumbling as she exited the dropship.

"Whoa there, little one, be careful."

She looked up towards the familiar voice. "Bellamy?"

He smiled at her, helping her get steady on her feet again. "How're you feeling?"

"Better."

"That's good."

She smiled at him before remembering what had caused her to rush out in the first place. Bellamy noticed her confusion and pointed towards a large mushroom cloud in the distance.

"Raven and Jasper blew up the bridge."

She smiled. "That should buy us some time."

"That it will," he smirked down at her.

The whole camp waited with bated breath for the heroes to return. Finally, shouts we're heard and the gates were opened.

Jasper and Monty sauntered into the camp, guns in hand and smirks on their faces. Everyone applauded and cheered. Thea just smiled at the two, relishing the moment that she knew would not last long.

Finn came next, carrying a partially conscious Raven. Thea rushed forward to help.

"I've already had it. I'll be fine." She assured Finn when he started to protest.

He nodded, allowing her to support Raven's other side, the two helping the sick girl through the gates.

Clarke followed as the two managed to get Raven into a hammock, making sure she was comfortable. Clarke examined her, doing what she could to try and help before leaving to check on the others.

Thea noticed Raven was awake and Finn was looking anxious so she left the dropship, leaving the two alone to discuss their problems.

She stood outside the wall, lost in thought.

Bellamy approached her. "You're outside the wall without a gun."

Thea sighed, ignoring his comment and looking at the freshly dug up dirt in front of her.

"Fourteen graves." Clarke joined them, speaking Thea's thoughts as she looked at where the dead were buried.

"We need to talk about Murphy." Bellamy told them.

"He was right about the bridge." Clarke said.

"We'll see. Octavia says the Mountain Men are pissed, whatever that means."

Mountain Men? Who the hell were the Mountain Men?

"I'd say it means we need as many soldiers as we can get," Thea told the two.

"So, what, we have pardon power now?" Bellamy seemed skeptical.

Clarke leaned closer to the boy and Thea felt something flutter in her stomach.

"It's hard running things."

It was quiet until Clarke broke the silence. "Fourteen." With that, she walked away, leaving Bellamy and Thea standing alone.

"Do you think we'll be able to pull this off?" Thea asked, breaking the silence that had fallen over the two.

"Pull off what, exactly?" Bellamy asked.

"Surviving. Not getting eradicated by grounders. Do you think we have any chance?"

Bellamy scoffed. "Of course we do."

"We're just kids, Bell," she said quietly. "Kids with no experience in war and surviving. We've made it this far but only just. What happens when we can't pull off another miracle? What happens to us then?"

Bellamy turned towards the girl, his gun swinging behind him, forgotten. He bent over slightly so he could look her in the eyes, tilting her chin up with his finger so she would look at him too.

"We can't lose hope, Thea. That's the most important thing. Sure, maybe it's just a fluke that we've even made it this far, but we have made it. And we're gonna keep making it until we can't anymore."

Thea looked into his eyes, seeing a softness that she hadn't noticed before. She blinked as he gazed back into her eyes, his hand still resting under her chin.

Thea felt her breath catch as he leaned closer, their lips only millimeters apart, breathing in each other's air as they waited to see who would make the first move.

Thea felt herself leaning in, her instincts taking over. Bellamy did the same, his breath catching in his throat as they neared each other. Both their eyes fluttered shut simultaneously, their warm breath fanning over each other's face.

Bellamy took a chance, pushing forward until his lips barely brushed hers. Thea just barely had time to feel his soft lips against her own before someone called out to them.

"Hey, are you two coming inside? We're gonna shut the gates," Jasper called out to the two, a mischievous smirk on his face.

Bellamy and Thea jerked away from each other, awkwardly stumbling inside the gates as Jasper sent them a knowing smile.

"About damn time you chose the right girl," he whispered to Bellamy as he passed.

Bellamy felt his cheeks flush and he tried to roll his eyes at the younger boy, rushing away before anyone could notice his blush.

Thea just stood by the closing gates for a minute, a small smile making its way onto her face. Maybe they could make it through this.
