Three figures raced down the dark tunnels. The sound of their footsteps was drowned out by the thunderous sound of the men running after them. Clarke, Anya and Thea had escaped Mount Weather but a horde of guards were on their tail and they were running out of places to run.

After they had broken Anya out of her cage and hidden from the doctor, they had fallen down a trash chute only to land in a pile of half-dead Grounder bodies. Anya had left them, insisting on going their separate ways, but the Grounder woman had reappeared just in time to take out the guards that had captured the two girls. Now, they were running from the rest of the guards, skidding to a stop when they realized they were at the edge of a cliff. Below them, a raging river ran to who knows where.

Looking down at the water, Clarke turned to Anya. "There has to be another way!"

"There isn't," Anya replied.

And then she jumped.

Clarke and Thea exchanged nervous glances as the guards slowly pushed them further towards the edge.

"Clarke, Thea, we don't have to do this. It doesn't have to end like this," one of the men tried to convince them.

Glancing at each other, Thea gave Clarke a subtle nod. Clarke put down the gun she had acquired and kicked it away as both girls raised their hands in the air.

Without a second of hesitation both girls turned and jumped over the edge as gunshots rang out behind them. Thea felt as if she was falling forever, the water rushing towards her in slow motion. She finally hit the surface with a painful splash and her body sunk slowly as everything went black.

~~~
Someone dragged Thea out of the water, dropping her beside Clarke. Both girls coughed up water as they looked up to see who had dragged them out. It was Anya.
"Thank you," Clarke said to the woman. "I think we should go back to the dropship first. So we can see if-"
Clarke's sentence was cut short as Anya hit her over the head with a rock.
"Hey!" Thea yelled, trying to clamber to her feet.
Without hesitation, Anya repeated the action, slamming the rock into the girl's head. Once again, the world faded out as Thea fell to the ground unconscious.
~~~

Thea woke up in the same spot she had been knocked out. Except this time, she was alone. She sat up quickly, groaning as her head throbbed where Anya had hit her, a trace of blood trailing down the side of her face.

Anya. Clarke.

Where were they?

Thea looked around. There was no sign of them. Slowly pushing herself to her feet, Thea blinked in the bright sunlight.

Hearing voices shouting in the distance, she realized that the Mountain Men must be coming to check if they had survived. Ignoring her aching head, the girl darted into the cover of the trees, peering out from behind one as the voices got closer.

Making sure no one could see her, she ran further into the forest, her feet tripping over roots and branches as she ran as fast as her weakened legs would carry her.

As she ran, Thea didn't even notice the figure appear in front of her. She sprinted towards it, crashing into it with full force.

Groaning, the person pulled themselves up, looking down to the girl panting on the ground.

"Thea?"
