Thea woke up the next day to shocking news. Wells was dead.
Apparently he had been killed by grounders just outside the walls.
Thea was in shock, she hadn't been best friends with Wells or anything, but he was a good kid and he didn't deserve to die.
At the moment, Thea was in the dropship attempting to help Monty make the wristbands into a functioning communication system. She wasn't amazing with mechanics, but she knew enough to help a little.
Monty and Thea had been trying to fix the wristbands into a communication system so they could talk to the Ark, but they weren't having any luck.
Suddenly, Clarke appeared, looking sad and angry as she marched over to the two.
"Take my wristband off," she demanded, looking down at Thea and Monty who were sitting on the floor in front of her.
Thea looked up in surprise, "What? I thought you didn't want to take it off so your mom would know you weren't dead."
Something flashed across Clarke's face but Thea could figure out what it was, "Well, I've changed my mind."
Thea frowned but didn't say anything as Clarke sat down next to Monty and held her arm out to him. The boy gave Thea a questioning look but she just shrugged.
"Clarke," Thea said quietly, "Are you sure about this?"
Nodding her head, Clarke looked the other girl in the eyes, "Yes," she said loudly before mumbling something to herself that sounded like, "She needs to feel it."
Thea sent her a confused look but kept quiet, nodding at Monty to begin. The boy sighed but turned towards Clarke and began to try and pry the wristband from her arm.
After a while of Monty working on the wristband while Thea fiddled around with the radio system, Monty yelled out happily, surprising Thea and making her drop the tool she was holding.
"Monty, don't do that! You scared me," she said, holding her hand over her heart.
"Sorry, I did it though. Still operational."
"Really?" Thea asked in excitement.
This was one of the few wristbands that they had managed to get off without it breaking immediately. Maybe this time they could keep it running for more than a few minutes.
"What? They needed a working wristband," Clarke said, causing Thea to look up and see Finn.
He didn't look happy. He was glaring at Clarke as he spoke.
"And you needed to punish your mother," he said.
"What are you talking about?" Thea asked, looking up at Clarke.
"I'll tell you later," Clarke mumbled, looking back at her for a moment before turning back to Finn.
"Look, they're running out of air, and we need their help. My mother thinking I'm dead is only temporary."
"Not if Thea and I can't patch it through the dropship mainframe," Monty sighed.
"We can do it," Thea said encouragingly, smiling at Monty and Clarke, even though she didn't believe a word of what she had said, "We'll be talking to the Ark by nightfall."
Clarke sent her a small smile before exiting the dropship, Finn following behind her.
A while later, Thea sighed and stood up, telling Monty that she was going to get some air. As she left the dropship she ran into Octavia.
