Thea followed behind Bellamy and Octavia with Clarke beside her as they and a small group of others hiked through the woods.
They were going towards Mount Weather. Raven had discovered that the Mountain Men had been jamming their radio signals, making it impossible to communicate with other Ark stations if there were any nearby. So they were going to blow up the tower.
"Don't forget to look up. The Grounders use the trees," Bellamy called back to the rest of the group.
Thea fell back to walk beside Raven as Clarke's mother caught up to the blonde.
"How's the leg?" Thea asked.
"Better," Raven replied.
She was walking without a cane now. But every so often Thea would notice her wince or miss a step and stumble slightly. She knew it was still causing her pain. But Raven wasn't one to complain.
They came to a clearing at the top of a hill. Raven pulled a pair of binoculars from her pack, scanning the surrounding area for the radio tower.
"There, I see it," she pointed.
Clarke took the binoculars, aiming them in the direction Raven had pointed.
"It'll be dark soon. We'll never spot the traps," Clarke said. "We should set up camp here. Leave at first light."
Abby nodded at her daughter before glancing around. "We're missing two," she announced, doing a quick headcount.
Thea and Clarke glanced at each other cautiously. They had sent Bellamy and Octavia out to scout the area for a way into Mount Weather.
"Where the hell are they?" Abby asked.
Shouts for Bellamy and Octavia rang out as the guards who had accompanied them began searching for the siblings.
"Clarke," Abby said angrily, "Thea, we are in enemy territory, and their lives are my responsibility."
Thea and Clarke made eye contact, having a silent conversation. Clarke nodded.
"They went to find a way in," Thea said.
"A way in? That's not what this mission is about."
"It is for them," Clarke replied.
Abby turned away from the two girls angrily. "Find them. Bring them back," she ordered the guards.
Finn picked up a gun, "I'm going with them."
"Finn, wait," Clarke protested.
"We need you here," Thea stepped in front of the boy.
"Why? So you can keep an eye on me?"
Thea glanced down at Finn's finger on the trigger of the gun nervously.
"You'd have to be able to look at me to do that," Finn said to Clarke.
Raven joined them. "Finn."
"What do you think I'm gonna do?" Finn snapped, backing away from them.
He turned to leave, throwing the gun to the ground as he walked by the guards.
Clarke called after him but he ignored her. "I'll go get him," she sighed.
Thea and Raven stood beside Abby as they watched Clarke run after the boy.
They waited silently until Thea noticed a familiar substance creeping towards them through the trees.
"Acid fog!" Thea yelled. "Abby, the tents!"
Thea grabbed her pack and ripped the tent from it. They set up their tents as quickly as possible, coughing as some of the acid fog began to enter the clearing.
