Chapter Six: Cotton Candy Mission

Today, I arose from my bed much quicker than I usually do. I look at my chest, and see the resting necklace. It's glowing. So it wasn't a dream. It was just a mere vision. Not that fear draws up inside me, no. Quite the opposite. I strip of my bed wear and head for the tub with the necklace still around my neck. After washing myself, I put on my normal clothes and slip on my dark blue hat. Slipping on my brown boots, I start making my way towards my guild and smile for the new day today.

Looking around, everyone is hanging out with some people. I smile a bit as I sit where Mirajane is at so she can cook food for me. "How's your day been going so far, Juvia?" Mirajane asks as she cooks up a steak. "It's been good so far," I respond as I eat the steak. "Juvia is enjoying her day just fine." I tell her. Mirajane smiles as she gives me a batch of fresh strawberries and blueberries. "Enjoy! I have to go check up on everyone else." Mirajane smiles as she then walks off and I watch her go while eating.

Finally, I finish my light meal as I look around, seeing everyone pairing off with each other for a mission. Laxus has asked Lucy to go to a mission with him. He's so strong, so Lucy wouldn't have to worry about any evil. I hope Dragonidas aids her as well. I smile as I decide to go up to the mission board and look for one that I would like to do. I peer around and try to find one that paid a lot and wasn't too difficult. Because, simply was, I was tired of the nightmares raging.

"You gonna do a mission too, Juvia?" A voice asks as I spin my head towards that direction, and see Natsu Dragneel. "Natsu," I speak up as he looks at me, flashing his canine smile at me. "Hey, you were just looking for a mission just now, weren't you?" Natsu asks as I nod, while flipping pages off one another. "I was going to go do one with Lucy or Erza, but they are both occupied, so...do you wanna do one?" Natsu asks. "With you?" I almost gasp, as I manage to smile. He nods as he smiles happily.

"To think we'd be able to fight alongside each other again," I smile looking at Natsu, before closing my eyes. "Yes! We're gonna be the strongest duo ever! With your water and my fire--" He gasps as I open my eyes and look at him. "Eh??" I tilt my head as Natsu grins before flashing his canines. "Water and Fire!" He says as I blink in confusion. It takes a while for me to get it. My eyes widen and shine as I smile. "Ohhh...Water and Fire!" I smile as Natsu adds. "Water and Fire, so awesome and compatible!"

I giggle as I almost forget how funny and weird Natsu is. "Is your cat coming along?" I ask. He shakes his head as he looks at his feet, before he looks up at me. "Happy decided to go with Carla and Wendy with their mission, I don't even know why." Natsu shrugs. "Juvia thinks she has an idea..." I smile as Natsu grabs my shoulders, and starts to shake me and I gasp yelping back and forth too. "You know?!?! Tell meeee!" He says as I gasp and I squeak. "Natsu calm down!!! Now Juvia understands why Lucy gets annoyed..."

Natsu stops as he sighs. "Lucy always complains and nags, even when I barge into her house." Natsu explains as I sigh, and shake my head. "In some areas, house-barging is considered very rude." I tell him as he crosses his arms and pouts. "How would you know?! No one barges into your house, Juvia!" Natsu says as I nod. "Juvia knows, but it's not polite..." Then, I remembered, I did that to Lucy once too. I quickly turn my attention to the mission board and skims through. "Uhhh, we need to find a mission to do, Natsu."

"Ohhhh yeah! We should!" Natsu says as he takes a look through the board. He rips papers off as I gasp. "Natsu don't!" I say as Natsu smiles and pulls one out. "Let's take this one, Juves." He declares as I look at him, and then swipe away the mission and take a look at it myself.

"Ohhh!!!" I smile as I take a look at Natsu. "Yes, we should definitely take this mission." I say as Natsu smiles, pulling the paper back towards his grasp. "Wait, but what should our team--duo name be?" I ask him as he smiles, slipping the paper inside his pocket before slapping all the other mission papers back onto the board and facing me once more. "Juvia I have a terrific name." He begins. "Ehhh??? Tell Juvia!" I say in extreme suspense as Natsu flashes his canines before winking, looking into my eyes once more before placing his hands on my shoulders. "I shall tell you...."

"After I tell Gramps we're taking this mission."

I groan as I sulk, and Natsu chuckles before running over and yelling, "Yo Gramps!" Natsu screams. "WHAT IS IT YOU SNOBBY BOY?! USE INSIDE VOICES!" He says as they talk for a bit, and finally, Makarov stamps the mission in approval as Natsu giggles, scurrying along back to me as he gives me a gentle smile. "Alright Juvia!" Natsu begins as he clears his throat. "Since I'm pink and sweet, and since you're blue and sweet, I've found the perfect name for us!" He says as I listen closely. "Cotton Candy!"
