Chapter Twenty Three: The Substitute

I slurp my smoothie as I stare at a wall. The guild is rowdy as usual, but I don't want to involve myself into the mess. After all the bad dreams and visions that confuse me, I can't participate at all today. I get up, as I then walk off, heading for the doors. "Juvia!" A hand drags me back as I am pulled into a hold. "Natsu-Sama?" I speak as he smiles brightly. "Lucy and Loke are out doing stuff today, so me, and mostly Gray were wondering, if you'd like to be a sub for her!"

I look forward, seeing Gray sit with Erza. No! There is NO way that Erza will be alone with BOTH Natsu and Gray! She might steal them! "Hey Juvia, would you come along with us? Then we can start recording your Ice and Fire steam Water!" Erza smirks as Gray screams. "That's weird!!! Erza there is no way--" "Sure! A movie with me, Shaved Ice and Juvia will be awesome!" The dense Natsu says as I turn tomato red and Gray turns beet red. "See?! Natsu is willing to do it!" Erza puffs her chest as Gray sighs. "He's stupid, Erza!"

"He doesn't even know what we're talking about..." I add. "YES I DO!!! COTTON CANDY BABIES!!! THIRTY OF THEM!" Natsu shouts as Gray's jaw drops, Erza smirks, pulling out her camera and I gasp, turning extremely red. "AHHHHHH!!!!" I scream as Gray screams as well. "YOU ARE SUCH A PERVERT, FLAME BRAIN!" Gray then looks over at me as I heave. "Juvia can't believe Natsu-Sama said that..." Gray gasps. "Since when is Torch Butt 'Natsu-Sama?'" Gray asks as I blush looking away as Erza smirks. "Since she started to like him." I gasp as I turn to face Erza.

"No! Juvia doesn't like Natsu-Sama like that!" I wave my arms up and down as Erza chuckles. "Then why are you calling him Natsu-Sama? Obviously some type of love is forming." She says as I turn to the mission board. "A-Ah...let's just hurry up and take one." I say, as Natsu and Gray exchange glances as Erza whispers in my ear. "Maybe I'll let the majority of the mission be you and your boys." Erza smirks as I stare at her. "Erzie, Juvia loves you and all...but Juvia doesn't think being involved with Gray-Sama and Natsu-Sama--"

"It's a good idea." Erza smirks as she then pulls me away from the mission board. "We already chose one, so come on, let's go!" I sigh. "How is that Juvia always has to take missions she knows nothing about..." I sigh as Natsu and Gray walk beside me. "It's okay Juvia! I will protect you!" Natsu smiles as I smile back. I take a hold of his scarf, and spin it around the two of us, as he holds the end of my hat.

"AHEEEEMMMM!!! I'M NOT SORRY TO BE RUINING THIS MOMENT BUT!!!!"

"What's up, Popsicle?" Natsu stops, as we turn our attention to Gray. "I know you guys are starting to become a thing or whatever, but please tone it down..." He grunts as I sigh. "Not the kind of reaction Juvia wanted from Gray-Sama..." I say as Erza then stares at Gray. "You're only telling the cotton candy couple that because you're jealous." Erza murmurs as Gray gasps. "ME JEALOUS OF FLAME BRAIN?!?! PLEAAAAASE! HE CAN HAVE JUVIA I DON'T CARE!" He then walks ahead of us, as a stinging and hurting pain starts to form and ache on my chest.

Natsu smiles as he puts an arm around me. "It's okay Juvia, you'll always have me." Natsu says as I turn red. "Mmm...Natsu-Sama..." He chuckles, tugging at my hat. "Don't you ever stop saying Natsu-Sama." He says as we both walk together, and I can't help but blush. "Natsu-Sama, Juvia thinks...she likes you..." I say as Erza smirks and crosses her arms. "Matchmaker Erza won this round. Matchmaker Mirajane has to keep up with the Master." Erza chuckles in pride as Gray rolls his eyes, turning around to face her. "What do you mean, Erza!"

"Ooooohhhh, nothing Gray. Pay attention to your walking..." She smirks as she realizes that Gray is watching Natsu and me being lovey dovey. But he obviously doesn't care. "Y-You like me Juvia?" Natsu smiles softly as I nod. He smiles as he pats my head. "Yes I like you too." Natsu says as Erza then whispers in my ear. "He may be dense and stupid right now, but he'll confess, you'll see!" Erza smirks as I sigh. "Oh Erza you get the craziest ideas, don't you---"

It was then, I had my first fantasy of Natsu-Sama.

"Juvia...I don't just like you...I love you!" He smiles, as his eyes are sparkly, his hair perfect and neat. "A-Ah, Natsu-Sama...you smell like strawberries...yes Juvia loves you too!" I smile, as he lifts me up. "How about it? We lose track of Erza and Gray and get some privacy~!" Natsu smirks as I giggle. "Oh Natsu-Sama you pervie boy!" I giggle as Natsu chuckles, touching foreheads with me. "You're a pervie girl, you naughty girl, you gonna stalk me and have Natsu stuff?" He asks as I blush. "Only for you, Natsu-Sama~~!"

"You were just daydreaming about Natsu, weren't you?"

I snap out of it, as I look at Erza. "No, Erzie!" I assure her as she laughs. "No matter how many times you try to defend yourself, I know one thing: you had a Natsu fantasy. Good luck handling your love triangle." She giggles like a mad fan as she leaves and I look down. "But Gray doesn't like Juvia..." I say under my breath, as I walk along with Natsu and we both keep going forward. A part of me wishes that fantasy was true, but also longs for Gray.
