Chapter Thirty Nine: The Bandits

Sitting up from a tiny nap, I feel some weight on my stomach and chest. Wearily, I open my eyes, and see Totomaru resting on me. I redden, seeing him sleep at peace. I want to scream and push him off, but then, I just, let him stay there and rest. Gajeel and Levy lead our carriage, sitting side by side like a couple, and they are conversing amongst themselves. I smile, admiring their passion. If only, Natsu and I could be like that. I think....I might like both Gray and Natsu, now that's a huge mess right there!

My eyes wander about, but they remain eyeing Totomaru. His hand is placed on my lap, as I get a look at his guild mark. Blue in the inside, purple on the outside. I smile, running a hand up his hair, and I am happy that we reunited. I'm happy he's in Fairy Tail. I'm happy he cares about Gajeel. I'm happy he cares about Fairy Tail. I'm happy he's by our side. I'm happy he's a good guy. I'm happy he is staying here next to me. I am happy. I am happy that Totomaru cares about me deeply.

Finally, our carriage comes to a halt, as I wait for Totomaru to get up, but that could be forever. "Yo lazy buns, get up it's time for our mission!" He walks over as he glares at the sleeping Totomaru, picks him up, and throws him out of the carriage. "What the hell Fire Boy! You think just cuz I ain't sitting with you and the Rain Woman in the back doesn't mean I'll beat the shit outta ya!" Gajeel crosses his arms as he says loud enough so the awakened Totomaru could hear. Levy rushes to his aid.

"Totomaru, are you okay?" Levy asks, as Totomaru nods. "That's a very interesting alarm..." Totomaru mutters as Gajeel and I jump out of the carriage. "So, where are the bandits?" I ask. Shrieking screams of girls are heard nearby as Gajeel rolls his eyes. "Obviously right there." Gajeel then storms forward as Levy runs behind him. Totomaru and I exchange glances, before nodding and then scurrying off forward. "Solid Script: Fire!" Levy shouts as this effects some bandits. "Hey Shrimp, toss me some iron!" Gajeel smirks as he jumps up, and Levy nods. "Solid Script: IR♡N!" I gasp as I see a heart in the place of an O.

"Awww hey look, they have another chick on board!" A bandit looks at me as I then raise my hand. "Water Slicer!" I say as it hits him, sending him flying back. Totomaru helps all the girls grab their stuff from huge dullish white bags. Gajeel smirks with the full amount of iron as he then takes down the rest, before jumping down. "Tsk, too damn easy." Gajeel smirks as I nod my head in agreement. "So, let's go back and get the money..." Gajeel mutters as the girls quickly surround him.

"You're my hero!" They all chant as Totomaru puffs his chest. "What about me?" He smiles as the girls remain at Gajeel's side and he laughs. "Ladies, ladies! Calm down, there's plenty of bulging muscles of Gajeel the awesome Iron man to go around!" Gajeel says as Levy's eyes widen in anger as she tightens her hold on a book. I laugh, knowing she's jealous, as she then stomps over to Gajeel. He smiles, letting the girls hug him and stuff as he then sees Levy walk over to him. "Hey Shri--" Gajeel then grunts as Levy hits him with her red purse.

"You idiot! We have to go back to the guild!" Levy grumbles as she then walks back inside the carriage, arms folded as she sits in the back with Totomaru. It's best if I don't ask to sit with Totomaru and sit with Gajeel instead. I hop into the carriage as I take the right seat and Gajeel grumbles, walking away from the girls as he jumps into the left, leading the horses. "Shrimp is such a twerp!" Gajeel rolls his eyes as I giggle. "She's jealous." I add as Levy shouts from the back.

"NO I'M NOT!"

The three of us laugh as an angered Levy waits to return to the guild.
