Chapter Fourteen: The Missed Dance

"A dance?! With Gray-Sama! Juvia...is glad Wendy isn't here to be with you!" I say as Gray scratches his head. "Uhhh, yeah." I smile as he then takes my hand, and raises it up. I blush, as the music gets loud, and for a moment everything is perfect. Juvia's first dance is gonna be with Gray!

"Gray."

Someone says behind him, as I see it's Lucy. "Love Rival! You here to steal my man!" I cross my hands as she shakes her head. "No, but..." She turns to face Gray. "Team Natsu needs you." She says as Gray turns serious.

"...Alright." He says, as my ears don't want to believe it. "A-Ah..." I say under my breath. "...." Gray turns quiet as I look down. Team Natsu always steals Gray. I feel like I'm not a part of them! No. I never was. Though...I was for a bit...I felt happy. And now, I'm not. I want to cry and scream. I don't have my own team. I don't...have a family of friends to call my own. I cover my eyes as Gray puts a consoling hand on my shoulder. "Sorry. Maybe next time." He says.

I don't respond, primarily because I'd yell at him, and also start to throw a water tantrum. He stares at me, and though I can't see, I can still see him, his reflection against the floor. He then turns to walk away, saying no more. I feel my tears well up, and I want to cry. Lucy walks over to me as she pulls me into a hug. "I'm so sorry." She says whisperingly as I sniffle. "It's fine. Juvia is fine. It's just..." I sigh "I know..." Lucy pats my head as I sigh softly. "I don't like to be there..."

She quickly says, before pausing. My ears can't believe what they're hearing. "W-What..." I look at her straight in the eyes. "Why don't you want to be on Team Natsu no more?" I ask her as she sighs, and grabs a pink cupcake from behind her and begins to eat it. I grab a blue one. "Because...I really feel like I don't fit in...or at least...I feel like you're being left out so many times..." She says softly as I pat her back. "Juvia wishes...she could be on a trio with Gray-Sama and Natsu."

Lucy smiles. "I wouldn't mind being in a trio with some new people, maybe two people from a different guild...? I don't know." I giggle and pat her head. "You're so funny..." I say as Lucy then looks at a nearby clock. "I gotta go...look Juvia...Team Natsu--I'm sorry I ruined your first dance...especially since it was with Gray." She says as I force a smile. "It's okay! There's always next time." I try to sound as enthusiastic as possible. "Are you sure..." Lucy asks. "Positive." I assure her as she nods, giving me one last hug.

And leaves to join Team Natsu in their mission.

With a small thud, I throw my black high heels across the room, stretching my ugly legs, before taking off my black dress by the shoulder straps, and only my chest holds the dress as I pull it down to my stomach, and it falls to the ground, surrounding my feet. I sigh, picking it up and tossing it into my closet, to be put away forever. While just wearing my matching black bra and underwear, I put on my sky blue nightgown with blue ribbons surrounding it.

I approach my bed as I bleakly stare at it and just jump into my bed. "So much for a Gray-Sama date..." I murmur as something hugs my waist underneath the covers...

"KYAAAA! What's up with this intense heat?!" I throw my blanket off as I see someone snuggled close to me, their face buried at my side and their body heat is intense. "NATSU!" I scream a bit as he looks up tiredly. "Hey Juvia." He says as I redden. "What the heck! Why are you here?!" I ask him. "Ohh, I don't barge into Lucy's..."

"Anymore?! Then why Juvia!"

Natsu shrugs as he then sits up on my bed. "Well, tomorrow...you know, since your thing with Minty Mouth is done, you can go with me to the buffet like you promised!" Natsu smiles as I sigh, unable to even think of a barging Natsu in my house since normally people barge into Lucy's. "Oh yeah, the buffet that was suppose to be after the mission." I say as he grins before nodding. "Aye!" He says as I sigh. "Hey! Where's Happy?" I ask him as he scratches the behind of his pink bubblegum hair.

"He's with Lisanna right now. Lisanna, Wendy and Carla plus Happy are doing a mission..." He says.

"What! But it's late...and what about you and your team..." I say as your rolls out almost too mean, but Natsu can't catch on, even his brain can't. "Oooohhh...our mission ended, ya know? But it's because Gray totally kicked the crap out of those thugs...I got motion sickness so I died." He says. "What! If you died then why are you here?!" I ask before he climbs up and lays on the left side, taking a hold of Juvia body pillow, and hugging it.

"I dunno." He says as he grins, taking off my hat from his head as he grabs his scarf, as his fingers touch my neck, and his heat is soothing. He slips it away as he puts it on. "Well, now we have our stuff...let's go to sleep, k?" He smiles as I groan. "You're gonna stay here with Juvia?!" Natsu pulls my blanket over us as he nods, grabbing the back of my head as he smiles happily, touching his forehead against mine before closing his eyes gently like a river. "Goodnight, Juvia!" He whispers.

"Goodnight Natsu."
