"Yo, Buck! C'mere."

The man dismissed his conversation with the SHIELD agents, and made his way over to you. "Hello, Beautiful."

"Captain America," You smiled as he kissed your lips, and refocused on what you were going to tell him. "Bucky, you have to promise not to leave once I tell you who I found."

"Well, it depends-"

"Promise."

"Okay." You took a breath, and grabbed the file from Natasha's hands. Bucky's widened once he saw the initials stamped on the Manila folder.

"You're kidding." He scoffed, running a hand through his short hair. "He's still alive?"

"In a cryogenic state, yes." You could see his hands start to shake, and feel the nerve radiating off of him. "James, look at me."

"I need air, I can't..He's alive?"

"Yes. But James, he's not the same. Hydra had him, and they brain washed him. He doesn't remember you."

"I need to get out."

"Listen first," His grip on your thigh tightened and his breathing became more and ragged. "I can make this go away. That is, until you're ready. If you can't handle it right now, then I can make it go away."

"Please. Please, I can't..I don't want to get him back then lose him again just yet. I'm still getting over almost losing you." He sighed and you placed the file on the bar again.

"Do you really think he's alive?"

The voice startled you from sleep, shooting up from your bed, and pulling your blanket over you.

"Jesus-Wait, why are you awake?"

"Can't stop thinking about him. The train, the-the army..It still haunts me." You sighed, crawling to the edge of the bed where he sat, wrapping your arms around his bare torso. "It shouldn't haunt you, Buck."

"But it does. He did so much for me. Steve didn't deserve to die. I'm just saying it should've been me."

You couldn't believe the words pouring from your fiancées mouth. He'd always looked up to Steve, and now it seemed like he was forgetting who he actually was before he died.

"Do you remember Steve before the army?"

"Yeah. He loved his family. He had way too many siblings, and he was the ladies man. He had to save my ass from getting beat up in allies so many times, I wish I could've been the one to save him that time."

"You've gotta look on the bright side, James. He's out there somewhere, and we can look when you're ready."

"Promise me?"

"Of course."
