Watching the soldier fall.

"People are dead. The bombing, the setup..The doctor did all that to get ten minutes with you. I'm gonna need you to do better than 'I don't know.'"  Steve watched the wheels turn in his friend's head. "He wanted to know about Siberia. Where I was kept." James frowned.

"Why would he need to know that?"

"Because I'm not the only Winter Soldier."

Bucky reminesced, so terribly hating that this was one of his only memories. But, he did see a face he recalled immediatley, almost bringing himself to tears. "I don't remember what happened to her. But, I know that she and I were close. If we find her, she and I could stop Zemo before he could do anymore damage."

"How do we know she's not under the ice?"

"Or dead." Sam added, smrking slightly at Bucky when he noticed his mood change. God, he hated this guy. "She's not dead. She was part of their elite death squad. Even if she was in control, she knew how to take of herself."

"Buck, we still have to entertain the possibilty that we can't find her. We need a back-up plan."

"Either way we have to get to Zemo before he gets to Siberia. Cause if he wakes them up, and she's there, we lost every shot we had."

"Alright. We find your girl, and we get Zemo."

"Buck, do you know how to get into this place?" I looked around for a moment to see if anyone was around, and then smashed the keypad with my right hand. "Wasn't that-"

"Don't ask." The doors opened, making this crunching sound against the snow. "Okay, next question."

"Do you know how to wake her?"

"Just gotta restart her heart, and say a few words." Sam shook his head, pulling Steve back. I turned, just to see what the problem was. "Steve, is this a good idea?"

"Go ahead, We're right behind you."

I walked into the room ahead, not bothering to look back. This place was cold, it's a wonder how we all didn't die of hypothermia considering the training we went through in the snow. I cursed when I almost slipped, but also praising it because it let me find the room.

I looked in all of the chambers, realising that two of them were open instead of one. Which meant that she wasn't there. I sighed, lowering my gun, but not walking back up to Steve.

I knew they were arguing about whether being here with me, just after finding that I could still be triggered, was a good idea. And Steve was probably defending me, but I wish that he wouldn't, I was most definitely wrong. Sam didn't trust me and he had a right to, I'd almost killed the guy two years ago, and broke his suit. I do know that I was wrong, which is why I learned not to trust myself either.

"Bucky, I think we found your friend!"

I turned at the sound of strain is Steve's voice, my eyes widening when I saw who was holding the gun to his head. "Y/N?"

"I know you. I know you, you're-you're James." I nodded. "Yeah, that's me. Do you know who you are?"

"I'm Y/F/N. You and me..We were-"

"Close." She nodded, tightening her grip on Sam, and repositioning the gun that was pointed at Steve. "Hey, those guys, they're here with me. I swear they're not gonna hurt you. Right guys?"

"Yeah," Steve responded, but Sam's response wasn't alike. "I make no promises." I took a step forward as she turned the safety off, and pointed it to the center of Sam's head. "Okay, Okay!" She let him go, still eyeing him as he kept his distance.

"Keep him away from me."

"Will do." Steve was the first to speak, making sure that Sam and I stayed back until they were sure she could be trusted. Which was weird becuase she was the person I trusted most out of all of them. "How'd you get out?"

"They were sending me to kill you. I knew that I knew you and I wasn't going to let them." I ran a hand across my face. "So, what did you do?"

"I killed them all."

I had a bad feeling when we left Siberia. It was like I'd forgotten something, even though we got who we came for, I felt like we should've stayed. Like we were missing the big fight. "You okay?"

I looked up to see Y/N, sitting across from me, looking slightly confused. "Yeah, you?"

"I guess I'm okay. A lot better than I have been. But I feel like we're forgetting something. I got out of there way too easily."

"I was thinking the same. Think we should go back?" She thought for a moment, then shook her head. "Not at all. It's too risky. Espescially for you."

"What do you mean?"

"I watch the news, James. You were in captivity. They probably think that's the first place you would've gone." I nodded, looking to Steve and Sam to see where we were. "You're not wrong. But I didn't break out on my own."

"Someone's after you?"

"Yeah, that's why we had to get you out of there before he realised that you could all be at his feet in less than 10."

"He could still do that." I sighed, leaning back in my seat. "I know. But not without you. You were basically their leader, and they were more at your feet than the doctors."

"So, the only one he'd really be controlling is me." I nodded. "Thanks."

"For..?"

"Getting me out of there."

"Oh. Don't-You don't have to thank me for that."

The rest of the ride was silent, since Y/N fell asleep and neither Steve or Sam had anything to say to me. I thought a lot about how none of this would've happened if Steve had just taken me back to Shield or whatever they were called. I couldn't hurt anyone that way, and knowing that they were going to try much less painful methods to rid my head of Hydra gave me a new comfort. One that was reassuring, something I'd almost never felt.

"Steve, what if you took me back? Both me and Y/N. What do you think would happen to us?" He took a second to respond. "Ross mentioned something about evaluation and extradition. But I'd rather have you in the american psyche center like Tony mentioned. Why?"

"I want you to take us to Stark. I don't want her to have to live in hiding like me."

"No. He's only going to try to arrest you, I won't surrender to him like that." I stood, trading places with Sam. "Steve, this isn't about just me anymore. I-" I struggled to find the word.

"You care about her. I can tell by the way you look at her, she's not just some girl to you."

"Please, can you just let me make a decision?"

"Is this what you want?"

I looked back to Y/N, and then nodded. "Yeah. This is the safest option."

"Okay. Looks like we're going to Stark."

I might turn this into a book...What do you guys think?
