"Steve, you're staring." Natasha murmured as she watched her friend.

"I am? Heh, didn't realise.." Steve's eyes trailed back to the soldier across the house, also known as James Buchanan Barnes.

"Steve. You really gotta do something about this little schoolboy crush." Clint slapped the Captain's shoulder, making him flinch and tear his eyes from Bucky.

"I don't have a "crush" on Bucky, okay? I just like to make sure he's okay, you know?" Natasha rolled her eyes.

"Like Barton and his wife? Like Bruce and I? Tony and Pepper?"

"Yes!" Captain pondered his response. "Wait, no! I mean-Fuck."

"Language!" Tony shouted from across the room. "I don't have a crush on him."

"So, if we lock you in a room by yourselves, you wouldn't kiss him."

"Absolutely not. He's-He's just now getting his memories back, I can't add more confusion on top of that."

"I don't think you're adding any confusion." Steve raised an eyebrow, and followed Clint's eyes to see Bucky's lips on another guys, which Steve took no time in reacting to.

"Steve, chill, hey!"

"You don't fucking control me, Steve!"

He sighed, unsure of what to say to his angry best friend. "I don't know what came over me, I just-"

"You just what, Steven? Hmm? Thought you could punch your jealousy away? Well not with me."

"Bucky, you know I would-"

"Well, you did, and you can shove your jealousy up your ass." Steve could feel the anger radiating off of James as the door shattered when he closed it.

"You fucked up, Cap."

"You think so, Barton?"

Steve had a feeling Bucky wouldn't be back awhile.

.

.

"How long has it been?" Natasha questioned, watching Steve stare at his ceiling. "Three hours and twenty four minutes."

"He's gonna come back, you do know that."

"You know, I really don't?" Natasha closed the door behind her. "I don't know where he goes, but every single time he leaves angry, he comes back with scars and bruises. I don't know if he's fighting or what but it gets worse every time."

"I think he's smart enough to know when something's getting to be too much." Steve didn't dare make eye contact with her. He knew that he was wrong for punching that agent, but hey.

Everyone knew Bucky was his.

"You have to apologise, Steve. He's completely oblivious to your feelings, and even if he wasn't you still shouldn't have reacted the way you did."

"I know. But I'm not gonna force him to talk to me when he's angry."

"Maybe that's just what you need to do."

"No.."

"Yes."
