Chapter Seventeen - Ache for Elena.

~Melody's POV~

After me and Damon had our little talk we went back to sleep, We've only just woke up now and it's 9 o'clock. "Babe Want some breakfast?" Damon shouted from the kitchen while I was sat in front of the fire "Sure just no bacon, I've had enough bacon to last me a life time" I said with a chuckle "Fine, French toast?" He asked "Sure with blueberries" I replied walking into the kitchen and giving Damon a kiss on the cheek "Okay babe, Go get dressed" He said while cracking a few eggs into a bowl. When I got into my room I went straight to my phone and check my messages, I had 4.
Matt - Mels I've got the day off work we need to talk, text me. xo I replied 'Meet me at one in the mall by Mollie's Ice-cream. xo'
Stefan - I'm worried about you. You've not been to school and you're avoiding everyone let me know you're okay. xxx I replied 'I'm fine Stef, I'm just bonding with Damon. xo'
Caroline - Elena told me what happened and I'm sorry that you had to move out, I'm here if you need to talk, or shop;) Love ya xxxxxx I replied 'Thanks Care, How about shopping at two? I'll meet you outside Mollie's Ice-cream. Love you too xxxxxx'
Elena - Elena has left you a new voice mail ring 4444 to listen to the message.

I debated if I should listen to it or not but after a mental battle with myself I rang 4444 and listened to the message. "Hey Mels, It's me Elena. I miss you, I know I'm the last one to admit I'm wrong but for you'll I'll make an exception. Since you left Jer's not talking to me because he misses you too even though he wont admit it, I miss our talks, our movies and our binge days. Damon explained what happened and now I know everything and oh boy I couldn't have been more wrong but Mels I wanted you to know your room is still yours waiting for you too come home. I'm sorry" Elena's voice said from the other end. When she talked about all the things we use to do I felt a tear roll down my face followed by a few more. Forgetting what I came upstairs for I started walking back downstairs where I could smell Damon cooking. "Hey why didn't you get dressed" Damon said before looking up and noticing my tear stained cheeks "Baby whats wrong?" He said again before pulling me into a tight hug "Elena left me a message" I said chocking on my own tears "And?" He said looking into my watery eyes "I need to reply to it" I said suddenly deciding. I pulled up Elena's number and started to text not wanting to risk a full conversation over the phone if I rang her I began to type what ever came to mind without thinking about it 'Lena, I want to forgive you, I really do but everything you said to me hurt, really bad. If you would have said something without bringing up my mother I might be able to forgive you a little easier but bringing up my mom hurt so much more than anything I've ever been through. Thank-you for keeping my room the same and not messing anything up and I'll come home soon I promise but I'm not ready yet please understand that. I love you. You're not just my cousin,  you're my best-friend and my sister rolled into one. I don't know why Jer's not speaking to you but he's messaged me a few times to see how I am and he's bumped into Damon a few times to see if he can come over to say Hi but Damon always said no. Oh and Elena. I miss you too' I hit send and sat down eating my breakfast smiling at the ache in my heart. It wasn't a bad ache it was a Ache for Elena.
