~Damon's POV~

I stared blankly at Melody's tear streaked face her words repeating in my head "I'm not a virgin" we just went through a whole thing where I finally got her to talk to me to find out that she's not a virgin and Tyler lied "What do you mean?" I said in a monotone voice trying to hide my shock "You know what I mean" she said sadly "But Tyler said..." I drifted "I mean, I like to think I am because it wasn't my choice" she said trying to fight back tears and I knew exactly what she meant "why didn't you tell anyone?" I asked shock still evident in my voice "who would believe a fourteen year old girl who smoked and got drunk that her mum's boyfriend raped her?" she said angrily "I'm going to kill him" I muttered hoping she didn't hear me "Damon. No. It's over, he's not in my life I've not seen him in two years" she said softly and I felt my anger settle with her words "at least tell me his name" I asked softly "Conner, Conner Miller" she said her sad tone coming back "I will protect you. I promise but you need to tell them" I said taking a hold of her hands "It was two years ago it doesn't matter" she said with maturity "I'll be with you. Just explain" I said simply waiting for any indication she trusted me and agreed. Surly I saw her head nod slightly before watching her body raise "you'll be with me?" she asked when I followed her actions "always" I smiled slightly.

~Melody POV~

We walked downstairs my heart beating in my chest fast, my heart beat faded in my ears as the chatter and laughter of my closest friends came closer and loader before I knew it I was stood in the doorway everyone's eyes on me "Mels" Tyler breathed with worry filling her voice "Everyone should sit. I have something to say" I sniffled before leading everyone into the living room where we all piled in, Me and Damon and a single chair, Elena on Stefan's knee on the couch, Jeremy and Bonnie taking up the last two spaces on the couch and Tyler, Matt and Caroline sitting on the floor "No interruptions, No questions till I finished and no tears" I said simply bracing myself, I sent Damon a sad smile before starting the never told story "Two years ago my mum got into a relationship with a wonderful man, he was funny and treated my mum how my dad never could. Three months into the relationship he would start coming into my room and to-touching me in inappropriate places and at first that's all it was, this went on for a few months until my mum had to come here to look after Elena and Jeremy. I couldn't come because of school so Connor my mums boyfriend looked after me, that night I got in late after a house party and Connor lost it and started hitting me and one thing lead to another and h-h-he took something he shouldn't" I looked around the confused faces "he raped me" I breathed letting the tears finally flow freely "I never told anyone because when my mum came back he left and never came back to us so that was the end of it. I dealt with it and forgot about it almost until Tyler told Damon I was a virgin, I've always said I was because I'd like to think I am but I know I'm truly not so it just hurt that when the time was right I couldn't give the person I love everything" I sniffled "I'm done hit my with the bomb" I chuckled emptily. There was a small silence "Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Caroline sniffled behind the tears "I didn't want all the fuss" I sighed "Elena?" Matt breathed followed by her shaking her head "I-I just don't know why I didn't see this" she sighed in disappointment with herself "it's not your fault anyway can we move past this and watch some film? I vote for Struck by lightning" I smiled trying to hide the heart ache of the forever kept secret out in the open "Mels can I talk to you?" Tyler said his anger visible on his face "sure" I said with hesitation before climbing off Damon's knee and leaving the others to talk.

"Yes?" I asked sadly when we got outside and out of hearing range "I'm sorry" Tyler sighed "Sorry?" I replied confused "I promised to protect you and I failed" He sighed "It happened before we met and Ty. You was there for me when I needed you and that's all that matters" I sighed pulling Tyler into a hug "I love you" he said into my shoulder "I love you too" I smiled before pulling away and walking inside.

"Before the movie starts I'd like to say that Mels we're all here for you. We'll get through this together" Stefan said as Jeremy put the disc in "together" Damon smiled "Together" Jeremy copied "Together" Caroline and Bonnie smiled "Together" Matt joined in "Together" Tyler said putting a hand on my knee. I looked at Elena who looked at me "Together" she smiled causing me to smile in response "together" I finalised.
