The song ends and Alec lets my hands go.
I bring them down to my side.
I look around the room to see most people looking at us. Alec hasn't noticed yet, he's looking down at his phone and smiling the smile that was once preserved for me.
I look away, unable to take the sharp pain in my chest.
I walk over to Tyler, and his partner.
"Hey Tyler." I say, and he turns, as does his partner.
Of course.
"Hey Bro, what's up." He says.
The chick looks up from her phone and her eyes widen, and she looks between the two of us.
"Wow, got to get used to that." She says laughing.
She excuses herself and walks over to Alec.
I look back to Tyler and smile. "How you doing."
"Good, I'm doing really good. Actually, I kind of like Chelsea." He says.
My smile falls slowly, "Chelsea?"
"My partner?"
"Oh! Isn't that Alec's girlfriend?"
He looks at me like I'm stupid, "Are you stupid? did you forget that he's gay. And completely in love with you?" He says.
I look away.
I can't do this.
I need to leave, just go...
I can't handle this... This, pressure, I hate seeing him.
I hate hearing him laugh.
I hate seeing his smile.
I hate, with all my heart, that he isn't doing any of that, because of me.
I clear my throat once I realized that I actually think that.
"I have to go."
Tyler looks at me, "What? You just got here."
"yeah, well... I have to shopping. You know, wedding presents. Um, clothes. Besides. You know I can dance." Tyler nods in agreement. He does know how good I can dance.
Before Anyone else trys to talk to me, I run out.
I need to paint....
