Three In One

The next day
*Spencer's POV*

Today Toby and I finally get to find out the genders of the triplets! We have waited so long! At first we had to cancel our appointment, because Toby was out of town for work. Then we couldn't get back into the clinic because it was so backed up with other people waiting to get in. But Finally today is the day!

"Hey babe." Toby says sliding into the kitchen. He caresses my cheek with his hands, and kisses me firmly on the lips. I smile at him.

"Today's the day!" I say excitedly. Toby grins.

"Today's the day." Toby puts his hands on either side of my ever growing baby bump and talks in a high pitched voice.

"Today is the day your mommy and I get to find out if you are boys or girls! Isn't that exciting?" I chuckle to myself.

"Tobes, we have to decide names, and design their nursery!" I say placing my hand on his. Toby's eyes light up.

"Oh yeah!" He says. "Let's get going! We can discuss that on the car ride there!" He takes my hand, and yanks me out the door.

"Spencer?" The nurse calls from the hallway. Toby pats my knee, and we both stand to follow her into the back. She holds a door opened for us, and we slip inside the exam room, taking a seat on the hard metal chairs. The nurse asks a few questions, and takes a measurement of my stomach.

As soon as the nurse leaves, Toby turns to me. Anticipation is hiding behind his eyes, and his lips are curved into a smile. I lean forward and kiss his lips. He kisses me back. My mouth opens wide as does his, and I slip my tongue inside. He does the same, and soon we are lost in each other's lips.

Our make out session gets cut short by the door opening. A tall male doctor comes in. The tag on his scrubs reads 'Doctor Jorden.'Toby and I quickly pull apart, and turn our full attention to the doctor standing in the room.

"Hello." The doctor says in a deep voice. "I'm doctor Jorden." He reaches out a hand, and I take it, giving it a small shake.

"So I hear you and your boyfriend are expecting twins. Is that correct?" I shake my head.

"Actually we are having triplets." I say. The doctor looks surprised.

"Oh, my apologies! Congratulations! Three is a lot!" I nod.

"Yeah, we are pretty nervous, but mostly excited." Toby gives my hand a squeeze.

"I bet you're just dying to find out the genders of your triplets, is that correct?" Dr. Jorden asks. Toby and I both nod vigorously.

"Well then, let's get this show on the road!" the doctor exclaims. I hop off the chair, and onto the examination table, pulling my shirt up to reveal my baby bump. Dr. Jorden plugs a few things into the computer screen. Then he takes a tube of blue gel, and lathers it thickly onto my stomach. I try to lay as still as possible, but the gel is freezing on my bare skin!

The doctor turns on the screen, and pulls the wand out. Then he places it gently on my stomach, and makes small circular rotating motions. Only moments later, three little bodies appear on the screen. Toby stares in awe at our beautiful babies, and I can feel my smile growing.

Dr. Jorden let's us look for a while, before proceeding onto the genital search. He takes a long look at the first little baby. Toby,and I hold our breath, before the doctor speaks.

"It looks like baby A is a boy!" he says pointing to the screen. Toby kisses my cheek. We are going to have a son!

Dr. Jorden then moves on to our second baby. He takes about a minute to examine before saying excitedly,

"Baby B is also a boy!" This time I kiss Toby. Two little boys! Toby and I are having two little boys!

"I'm betting this next one is also going to be a boy." Dr. Jorden says laughing. He examines the last, and certainly the smallest baby. He looks for a while defore declaring in a hushed tone,

"Well I'll be darned. It looks like baby C is a little girl!" I burst into tears of joy. Toby embraces me in a tight hug, and wipes a stray tear off his cheek. I wanted one of each!

"Spence," he says. "We are going to be parents to two sons, and a daughter!"

"And we're going to be some damn good ones too." I say, smiling through tear filled eyes.

Dr. Jorden prints out three pictures, one for each of our children. Toby and I stare in awe at the pictures in our hands. Before we leave the clinic, Toby kisses my tummy, and whispers to the babies.

"I love you little son, and you too little son, and I love you too my little princess."
