*Emily's POV*

I just finish wiping off the counter top when Paige comes through the door with Shay strapped to her chest, while carrying two grocery bags.

"There's my two favorite people!" I exclaim, tossing the dirty rag in the sink and taking the grocery bags from Paige.

"How was she at the store?" I ask, motioning to my five month old who is bouncing excitedly in the baby bijorn.

"oh she was great! A prefect little angel as always. So many people commented on how cute and well behaved she was!" Paige gloats. I nod.

"That doesn't surprise me." Shay grins widely and lets out a little squeal.

"Oh is that right little Shay-bee?" Paige asks, nuzzling her nose up against Shay's, who squeals even louder. It's making me so happy that she's to the age now where she can start to interact with us. It makes being a mom so much more fun when I know my daughter can recognize, and somewhat understand me.

"So what's the plan Stan?" Paige asks, uncoupling the bijorn and lifting Shay out of it.

"Well, I asked the girls if they wanted to come over for a movie night but Hanna has to watch Ashley because Caleb is working late, I haven't heard from Spence yet, and Aria and Ezra are busy planning the twins' party." I reply, mentally reviewing my friends plans.

"Oh that's right!" Paige exclaims. "I can't believe the party is next weekend already!"

"And I can't believe the Fitz twins are almost one year old already! Pretty soon the boys are gonna turn one, and then little Ashley and then..." I gasp, and stare at my daughter who is resting contently in Paige's arms.

"And then our little Shay-bee!" I finish, making the saddest face I can muster. Paige rolls her eyes.

"Oh stop it Em! Don't think like that! She just turned five months a week and a half ago! She's not even half way there yet!"

I sigh. Paige is right. I'm worrying for nothing. "I guess you're right. I just feel like the time is slipping through my fingers, and pretty soon my baby girl won't be my baby girl anymore." I pout. Paige places Shay in my arms, and kisses me.

"You don't need to worry. Shay will always be your baby girl, no matter what." She says. I smile and look down at my daughter who's staring up at me with her beady brown eyes and chubby cheeks. I chuckle.

"Shay-bee, promise me you'll always be my baby girl." I say, planting a kiss on her forehead. She smiles and kicks her feet in agreement.

"I think that's a yes." Paige chuckles. Just then my phone rings and I hurry to answer it, balancing Shay on my hip.

"Hello?"

"Hey Em, it's Spencer"

"Oh hey Spence! Did you get my message?" I ask, hoping she'll say yes.

"Yeah I did, that's why I was calling."

"Oh awesome! What time can you and the boys come over?"

"Actually Em, I haven't been feeling very well lately.  Toby was sick with a stomach bug a few days ago, and I think I caught it. I feel horrible!"

"Oh no, Spence! I'm so sorry to hear that!"

"Yeah... its a bummer. I was really looking forward to coming over." Spencer says, with a hint of disappointment in her voice.

"Me too... Oh well, there's always next time." I say optimistically. "For now you need to focus on the most important thing, feeling better."
