A Reason To Love

One week later
*Hanna's POV*

Aria came over this afternoon. I had invited the other girls to come too, but Emily had swim practice, and Spencer was with Toby, so today it was just me and Aria.

Aria has officially resigned from Rosewood High ad of a few days ago, and ever since her dad kicked her out she has been living with Ezra in his apartment.
It was good to get some one on one time with Aria. I know she's really hurting at the moment, and I can't even come close to imagining how she's feeling right now. I caught her up on all the new drama at school, and she told me all about her first month of being pregnant.

One thing I learned is that I will not be getting pregnant anytime soon, that's for sure!

After Aria left, Caleb called. He told me he was going to visit his mom in California this week and wanted to see me again before he left.

After our brief conversation, I hang up the phone and decide to take a long overdue shower. I walk upstairs to my bathroom and turn on the water. Then I grab a towel and hang it on the hook next to the shower curtain for when I am done taking my shower. I undress and step into the shower, pulling the curtain closed behind me.

While under the water, I start to hum and comb my fingers through my thick blonde hair. I reach for the shampoo and squirt some into the palm of my hand. Then I lather it it thickly onto my hair.

After I thoroughly rinse my sudsy hair, I turn off the water and step out out onto the cold tile. I wrap the towel tightly around me, and open the door leading to my bedroom. I fling open the the doors to my closet, and rummage through the racks of clothes, trying to find the perfect pieces to wear on my final night with Caleb until he returns from California. I finally decide on a long- sleeved black shirt over a white lacy tanktop, skinny jeans, some pearl studded earrings, and a silver pendant threaded through a thin chain. Casual, but classy; just how I like it. I tie my towel around my hair, and change into the outfit.

Once I have curled my hair into beachy waves, and thoroughly apply some makeup, I head downstairs. I flip through a few pages of an old phone book, trying to find a place for Chinese takeout. Caleb and I wanted something simple and delicious, and since we both love Chinese food, we settled for that.

After I call in our order, I walk into the sitting room. My phone bleeps on the table beside me. I hesitate to pick it up. The girls and I haven't heard much from A lately, and as much as I want it to be a relief, it worries me. I can't help but feel that any day now A will come up with some new sick way to torture us.

I breathe a sigh of relief to see it's only Emily. I open the text.

Hey Han! How's Aria? I wish I could have seen her, but I had swim practice :(

I write back,

Aria's okay. She's not great, but I can't blame her. I can't imagine all she's going through! Trying to adjust to being pregnant and on top of that, being kicked out by her own father.

I hit send. Emily replies almost immediately.

I know. I wish I could help! That's good that she's doing okay considering the circumstances. Has she heard from her mom or Mike?

I text back.

No, Not that I've heard. Byron cut off all contact with her :(

Just then Caleb texts.

Hey babe! I'll be there in 10! (:

I type back,

K sounds good! <3 u! xoxoxo

I set my phone down, and walk into the kitchen. My laptop lays open on the table. I groan. I still have homework to finish! I glance at the clock. Only two minutes have passed since Caleb texted. I still have some time! Plus knowing Caleb, he's usually always a few minutes past when he says he will be somewhere.

I sit down and start to type out my research paper. No sooner had I sat down, then the doorbell rang. I glide over to the front door and open it. A small woman with dark hair, and almond shaped eyes stares back at me.

"Are you Hanna Marin?" she asks in a rich Asian accent.

"Yes." I reply, pulling out my wallet. She hands me a brown paper bag, and I hand her a $20 bill in return. She stuffs it in her pocket, and turns to leave.

"Thank you for your service!" she says smiling. I smile back and close the door.

I set the heavy takeout bag on the counter. Just as I start to sit down at my computer for the second time, I hear a knock on the back door. I immediately know who it is. Only Caleb comes to the back door!
I swing open the double doors and wrap my arms around him. He hugs me back and leans in close, planting a kiss on my lips.

"Mmm, it smells delicious in here!" he says, taking a big whiff of the kitchen.

"Yup, nothing smells better then cheap Chinese food!" I say chuckling. I walk behind the counter, and start to unpack the bag. Caleb stands beside me opening cartons of food.

Once all the food is out on the counter, I walk over to the cupboard and grab two ceramic plates, and two crystal glasses.Then I open the fridge, and reach for a half full bottle of champagne on the top shelf. In attempt of getting the bottle, I knock down a container of leftover spaghetti sauce. The red sauce splatters all over the floor.

"urggghh!" I groan in frustration. "Why am I so clumsy!!"

Caleb just stands there chuckling in spite of my clumsiness. I glare at him.

"You think this is funny?" I ask annoyed. Caleb trys not to laugh.

"No, no. I just love how cute you are when you get frustrated." I give him a playful punch in the arm.

"How about instead of laughing at me, you give me a hand." I say only half joking.

"Okay, okay!" Caleb replies, tearing off a paper towel from it's roll.

I bend down and start to mop up the mess. Caleb joins me, still laughing. Even though I don't like to admit it, I like when Caleb teases me. It makes me feel happy inside.

Once the last bit of sauce is wiped up, and the last paper towel is thrown away, Caleb and I finally sit down to dinner.

About half way through dinner, Caleb leans over and kisses me. I kiss him back. Once we pull apart, Caleb leans close and whispers in my ear.

"Thank you."

"For what?" I ask confused.

"For giving me a million reasons to love you." he replies and kisses me again.

I close my eyes, and fall deeper into the kiss. God, I love Caleb.
