Chapter 3

Alexandria finally settled on her bed. She was about to close her eyes when her phone vibrated from the bedside table. The blue light coming from her phone illuminated her dark room. She checked the small neon clock beside her phone and learned that it's already 2AM. Who would ever call her that late in the night?

"Hello?" she said tentatively.

"Tell me something you don't usually tell me." said the man on the other line. She knew who the caller was alright.

Sagittarius.

"You're annoying."

Sage chuckled in response. "Really, Alexandria? I didn't know you find me so charming. Gosh, I'm flattered!"

"Don't flatter yourself too much, champ. Not all women in this world thinks you're cute."

"Well, cute's an understatement, love. Wait 'til you see it yourself, if you know what I mean." Lexa already imagined a smirk playing on his lips. The man's a big flirt, alright!

"Wala bang pinipiling oras 'yang kalandian mo, Sage?" she asked in a bored tone when in truth, her cheeks were flaming up on what he said.

"Wala bang pinipiling oras ang katarayan mo, Lexa?" balik-tanong nito.

"Touché."

"Aren't you supposed to be asleep already?

"Tell me about it." she rolled her eyes. "Why are you still awake, anyway? What's up?"

Natahimik ito bigla.

"Still there?"

"Wala na kami, Lex."

"Nino?" sa dami kasi ng naging girlfriend nito'y nalilito na siya sa pangalan ng mga ito.

"Ni Cindy."

"Well, congrats! Aren't you supposed to be happy?" tanong niya.

"Why would I be?" parang nalilito pang tanong nito sa kanya.

"Nakawala ka na sa wakas sa galamay ng babae mo—whatever her name is. Makakahanap ka na naman ulit ng iba." Alexandria felt her heart constrict in her effort to sound nonchalant.

"I don't date women just to play with them, Lexa. And she has a name, it's Cindy. I just thought.. that I've finally found the one."

Pagak na tinawanan niya ito. "You live to toy your women and eventually get rid with them when you feel like it, Sage. Saka ikaw, si Sagitarrius Elliot del Ruiz, naniniwala sa mga the-one-the-one na 'yan? Alright, how much did you drink this time?"

"I'm serious!" giit nito. Hindi man lang nito ipinagkailang nakainom ito kaya posibleng lasing nga ang binata.

"Then why have sex with them if the only reason you've dated them is because you were looking for your 'the one'?"

"Sex is just an added bonus. Natural lang naman yo'n. We're already adults you know? Mature people handle things civilly."

Ngali-ngaling batukan niya ito sa naging sagot nito. Huminga siya ng malalim upang pakalmahin ang sarili. "Ano namang kinalaman ng pagiging adult mo at ng pagse-sex, Sage?
