Wooh, okay, I'm done. Now let's get on with the story!

~ooooOOOoooo~

You might be wondering why Cameron is still in one piece and, as Hanna quoted 'with his tail still attached to his ass'. It was quite a shocker for me too, when two whole weeks had passed and no recent sightings of his beautiful, jerky face was reported.

The results of the pop quiz were being handed out. I had been dreading that quiz and its result. The smug look on Mr Potato's face as he called my name to collect my paper told me that he didn't need to 'accidentally-on-purpose' take away a couple of marks to fail me. Not bothering to even look at the paper, I collected it from the front and stalked back to my seat.

"Cameron Anderson," his squeaky voice called out. At the mention of his name, my ears perked up, even though I had pretty much convinced myself that no traces of a crush were left in my mind or heart.

When no one stood to collect the paper, he looked into his chronicle and his smirk filled with even more evil.

"So, Miss Grace, has your eye candy gotten sick of being devoured and finally left the school?" He grinned. He feigned surprise as he looked back into the chronicle. "Oh, wait a minute. He has not only left the school, but also the town?!"

Shock was an understatement. If my blue eyes got any wider, they would surely be passed off as saucers. My mind told me to continue paying attention to Mr Potato's goads, but my pounding heart told it to shut up and let me faint.

'What. The. Hell?!' I mentally screamed at Cameron. 'You coward! Did you just try to escape your inevitable doom and succeed?! Oh hell no! Imma wait for you and your stinky ass to get back to R.W. College so I can kick your guts, then kiss you crazy!'

Wait, just hold that thought.....

What was that last thing?

Did I actually just tell myself that I would kiss him when he returns?

Was I'm still not over him? Did my obsession and love for him still course through my body, even though I hadn't seen him for two weeks?

Did that basically mean that my crush on him wasn't ongoing just because having to see him for free every day? Because if that were true, my feelings would have evaporated into thin air and I'd be kicking myself out of disgust for ever thinking that he was awesome because clearly, his attitude needed a huge rearrangement.

Feeling Hanna's gaze across the classroom, I turned towards her direction. Her head was already turned back towards me, eyebrows high up, her mouth making a perfect 'o'.

I reckon I could've measured the circumference of that.

She caught herself looking like a fish and closed her mouth, turning it into a tight line and her eyebrows lowering into a glower. Her annoyance at not being able to lay a finger on him before he ran away surrounded her.

When the bell rang, I shot straight out of my seat. We had to discuss this matter and believe me, it was not for the sake of worrying about his wellbeing.

We had to burp out a plan that would track him down, even though we both had different intentions as to why.

She just had to get in one kick at his reproductive system while I wanted to know where my crush ran off to with my hopelessly stubborn feelings.

Had all the jackass actions he done towards me not enough to convince me to hate him?

As we turned the corner, Xavier came into view. He was leaning against the wall with one foot off the ground, pressing on the wall behind him. Sensing our presence, he took a few long strives towards us until he stood right in front of us.

His height could've rivalled Cameron's easily, yet he was just three centimetres shorter. While Cameron's light brown locks stood straight up and created a soft look in the front, Xavier's dirty blonde ones stuck out in all directions, giving him the rugged and sexy playboy look. His hazel eyes looked troubled and instead of them holding a mischievous glint like always, they reflected denial and worry.

"Is it true? Is he really gone?" he questioned. From his tone, it was clear that he already knew the answer, but still asked for the sake of hearing someone say otherwise.

I slowly nodded. I didn't know him personally, so I was cautious as to what he wanted to hear.

He huffed out a breath and rubbed his neck in frustration.

"Bastard couldn't get his shit together so he up and left, huh?" he mumbled under his breath.

Hanna squinted her eyes and put her hands on her hips. "You know something, mister Big-shot?" She wasn't exactly his biggest fan. His player attitude 'disgusts her', as she would put it.

Looking down at Hanna, the playful glint in his eyes returned. He dropped his hand and brought it closer to her face, only for her to slap it away.

"Awww, and here I thought the beauty would feel pity for the depressed prince whose best friend deserted him," he fake pouted.

Hanna snorted and let out a laugh. "As if! You could be dying in a ditch filled with tarantulas and a rattle snake could be wrapped around your throat and I'd still be laughing at you."

"Ouch! Why you gotta be like that babe? If my pride wasn't strong, it would've had a chip broken right off!"

"And if your mind was any smaller, it would be best friends with your balls," she snapped. If she was a character  in a chicklit book, she would've flipped her hair and strutted off.

But she wasn't, so she stepped on his foot, flipped her hair, then strutted off.

I bit back a laugh and turned to see if Xavier was alright. He was chewing his lips to keep in his yelp. He looked back in the direction she stalked off at and smiled.

"See ya around Gracie," he touched my shoulder and sauntered away.

I bit my lip as I thought of how things had been going down for me. The only thing I could be thankful for was getting to see my dad again, but that too came with a price; a whole month without mom.

How could I have foreseen that compared to the shit that was really going to go down, this was nothing.

I've put a picture of Xavier up there^ 😁
