~ooooOOOoooo~
Awkward.
That was one word to describe how it felt to have Eleanor bounce across the empty free room to sit beside me.
She had a stupidly crooked grin spread as she waited for me to break and finally acknowledge her presence.
"What?" and I finally gave in.
"Okay, let's start," her hyper tone told me she had more than enough topics stored to keep us busy for the rest of our free period. "First of all, we left off at a really bad note last time."
"You can say that again," I chimed.
She scratched her head apologetically. "I guess it was me blowing off some pent up steam from the last few years. Seeing Cameron again and meeting the girl he left me for broke the seal I put on my feelings for him."
I raised an eyebrow. "Meaning you put away your crush on him, but now it's back?"
She nodded.
I didn't like the sound of that. Eleanor seemed like the type of person who got what she wanted, and if she wanted Cameron...
"So today I'm going to put an end to this!" she punched the air with determination. "I'm going to talk to him!"
"Eh?" how was talking supposed to help? "What will you talk about?"
"I'm going to tell him how I feel again. What he says this time will be the final decision. If he accepts me, I'm your rival in love. If he rejects me, I'll stop loving him."
Her straightforward attitude about this was impressive; no sneaky seduction attacks, just straight up accept or reject. It's hard to find people with that kind of attitude.
But my fight with Cameron yesterday gave me a huge disadvantage. She'd surely get his acceptance at this rate.
'So? Who cares?! You don't love him. She does and therefore deserves him!' I remembered.
But that still didn't sit right with me.
"Oh, well that's...nice?" I had no idea what to say.
She nodded once. "Mhm! Now that I have your consent to go and do this, I'll be at it this evening!" she announced.
I groaned mentally. Just now, I was giving her permission, not listening to her plans?!
"Well then," I stood up and walked over to the door. "Best of luck to you," I wished over my shoulder and exited the room.
Crossing the corridor halfway, my phone rang from my pocket. My stomach flipped when I read the caller I.D.
I picked it up instantly and Cameron's voice filled my ear.
"Grace, we've got to talk this through again," he whispered as loudly as he could.
"Are you in class right now?" I guessed.
"Sitting at the back. The idiot teacher won't notice," he reassured. "So can we fix it up later? Maybe this evening or something?"
This evening? Eleanor planned to meet with him in the evening as well.
My insides tightened at the thought of Eleanor batting her eyelashes and playing with her hair while confessing to Cameron.
She had the ability to sweet talk and guys fell at her sides just by one glance thrown to them by her.
Chances were she'd manage to grab Cameron as well. And chances were she won't have the chance if Cameron was with me all evening.
"Grace? Still there?"
