~ooooOOOoooo~

I woke up to an overstuffed pillow slapping my face. My eyes stung and felt heavy when I tried opening them. I was more than used to this type of pain; I had cried myself to sleep too many times before.

But for once, it wasn't after having another factor of my life getting destroyed.

I slid the pillow off my face to see Hanna shielding herself by holding both her arms crossed in front of her.

Did she expect me to throw it back at her?

I smirked. I grabbed the pillow she chucked as well as the one under my head. With all the strength I could muster right after waking up, I threw them both, one after another. The force made her tumble to the floor, but she burst out laughing.

I smiled to myself. After such a huge revelation was thrown at her the night before, she was doing better than expected.

"Girls! If you're not down in five, I'm not driving you!"

Hanna immediately stopped and her face panicked.

I chuckled. "She always does that. She'll end up driving us anyway."

"Oh! Reminds me, I have to call up Xavier," she scooted towards the table that had her phone on top.

"Oh? Need to give him a virtual good morning kiss?" I wagged an eyebrow and made a kissy face.

"He's my hired driver," she said in a dead panned tone.

Eh?

"Hired? Doesn't he have to drive you?" I was confused.

She snorted. "He'd never waste his precious fuel on me."

"Isn't he like, your boyfriend or something?" I was genuinely lost. Since when did you have to hire your boyfriend to drive you?

"Boyfriend?! Where the heck did you get that?!" she literally shrieked, like as if the image of the two together was gross enough to give her a mental illness.

"I don't know! Maybe the fact that you two act like a couple did?"

"No. Me and him, just no," she was bright red now. What was she imagining? "Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad to be his friend if he didn't have a whole freaking harem hovering over him."

"Then what are you guys?"

"I guess friends? I mean, I need him as a driver and he needs my notes, and he did help me out a lot when, you know...back then," she scrunched her face as she thought of the reasons why she dealed with Xavier.

I slowly nodded. That sort of made sense, I think. "I'll use the bathroom first. You let him know mom's taking us today," I said as I grabbed a towel and a set of clothes.

Xavier was already at school by the time we got there. He and Cameron were at the lockers.

As we got closer, the attention of the two boys was on us. Xavier smirked when he saw us walking together. Cameron, on the other, had his eyes wide, like he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"Gonna wish me all the best for my calculus test?" she asked Xavier.

What was he smirking about? More importantly, wasn't that the first smirk I've seen in his face since I started here again?

"Maybe I might, after you've paid me with your notes."

She rolled her eyes. "No thanks. "

I mentally chuckled. With this kind of behaviour, it was a no wonder why they weren't together.
