~ooooOOOoooo~
"The Prom Dance tickets are now being sold after school as well. Please collect your tickets soon," intercom crackled with another reminder.
"Hey Grace," Hanna nudged, making me yelp when my spoon made contact with my cheek instead of my mouth. "Wanna get ours before going home?"
I cleaned the smudge of chocolate pudding off my face. "Can't. I'm busy after school."
"Where are you off to?"
I smiled. "Joshua's taking me to his tailor to get me a fitted dress."
Cameron spluttered and coughed. I frowned as he gulped down his energy drink when he couldn't find a water bottle. "Cam, take it easy. Next time you'll choke to death."
I passed him a tissue and my unopened bottle.
"Aren't you going with Xavier?" I turned back to Hanna.
She gave me a look that told me I was stupid. "Obviously I am."
"Then shouldn't he buy you a ticket?"
"Eh?! Is that how it's supposed to be?"
I nodded. "Believe me, I've read more than a fair share of romance novels. The guy always invites the girl to dance. Buying you a ticket is like asking you to dance with him," I enlightened her with unnecessary knowledge.
"Is that so?" she crushed her empty juice box in her palm and emitted a dark aura.
I gulped. 'Who's going to die by her hands?'
"That idiot. He hasn't bought me a ticket yet and the dance is in a couple of days. He's going to ask another chick out, isn't he?" her imagination went wild.
"Huh?! No! Uhhh of course not! Why would he do that? No, no. I'm sure he doesn't know about this ticket rule. I bet he forgot all about it," I scrambled through my vocabulary to find the right words to calm her down and tell her she was going to kill over nothing.
"Right, Cameron?" I turned to him when her aura buildup didn't reduce. "C'mon Cam! Back me up here or your friend is booked for an early grave!"
Cameron tsked and turned away. He couldn't care less what was happening around him at that moment.
'What's going on with him?' I frowned.
Hanna picked up her tray. "I'm going Xavier-hunting. He's got some explaining to do."
Once she left the cafeteria, I turned my attention to the grump sitting in front of me. "Alright, what crawled up your ass this time?"
He tightened his lips, debating whether to talk.
"Just say it. Nothing good ever happened when either of us stayed silent," I referred back to the time Cameron left without explaining, and the time I did the same. The results were almost irreparable.
He lifted his gaze to meet mine and I felt a chill. His piercing eyes were cold and hard. It had been forever since I was on the receiving end of his guarded glare.
"Don't go out with him," his voice rumbled deeply. It was a strong demand, it made me want to oblige immediately and feel the warmth of his soft, loving eyes again.
I broke his spell by looking away.
'Don't go out with him?' I repeated his order to myself.
"What? Why?"
"Just don't," his scowl deepened because I objected.
"Where's this coming from?" A hint of possessiveness met me when I looked back at his eyes with my own wondering blue ones.
