Chapter 18
Paradise falls
The ride with Allie is definitely the most exciting experience I could ever endure. We rode through 5.3 miles through a dirt roads and thick, jungles. Ahead of us was the abandoned neighborhood. She turns onto the street and I start looking around for the house. I look over Allie's shoulder to find the house sitting a cool shadowed area. She pulls up into the drive way and turns off the ignition. I hop off of the motorcycle and walked to the entrance. She sets the motorcycle on the bike stand and looks at the house.
"Here it is," I told her. "My home away from home. What do you think?"
"Wanna know something funny? This reminds me of your house," Allie commented. "This will work for me too."
"At least it beats spending the night at the camp," I said.
"That we can agree on." She replied.
We walk down to the front door and I pushed the door open. The door appears to be locked. Allie takes a few steps as I prepare to kick the door down. As I kicked the door, my foot started to sting like I got stung by a bee. Allie opened the door by lifting the handle and laughed a little. We walked inside and decided to hang out in the kitchen for a bit. I sat down on a chair and Allie starts checking the fridge and freezer.
"Oh this is exactly what the doctor ordered." She comments.
Allie takes out a container of Aloe from the refrigerator door. She turns to me and shows it off. She walks to one of the cabinets and finds a row of glass cup on the top shelf. She pulls two cups on the island. She starts pouring the aloe into both cups and slid the other cup to me. I grabbed the glass and took a sip from the glass. I look over at the container to see an Herbalife logo on the side.
"Is this Herbalife aloe shot?" I asked.
"Yes it is," She replied. "It's important to keep the body in good shape while being on an island like this. You never know what you come across here. Have I told you that I created the trainers?"
"I have heard that," I told her. "I happen to be one of the best ones after Jachin."
"Jachin? You mean Albert Jachin?" She asked.
"That's the guy," I pointed out. "For a man his age, he has shown to be quite the leader. He definitely kicked my butt a few times during the sessions."
As I took another sip from the glass cup, I feel a pair of large hands grab my shoulders followed by a loud scream. I jolt from my chair and my chest started to hurt a bit from the startling scream. I turn to see Daric and Barlic laughing hysterically at my reaction. I breathed heavily to recover from almost having a heart attack.
"Hahaha Gotcha man." Barlic said. "Definitely bricked it for sure."
"When we get off this island, I swear to God, I'm going to get you back." I promised.
"Let's worry about that later, but first where in bloody hell have you been?" Daric asked in an angry way. "We thought you got killed by one of those scaly Dinos roaming around."
"I was out hunting and brought home some fresh meat for brunch," I told them. "Then out of nowhere..."
I stepped aside and Allie walked to them. Daric and Barlic eyes widened as if they had seen a ghost. They stood motionlessly still. I witnessed Barlic drop his hammer on the concrete floor, breaking the tile in the process. Allie waved in a greeting gesture and Daric started to have a familiar picture come right into his head.
"Uh - Hi." Allie greeted.
"You look familiar," Daric commented. "Were you in Camp Purgatory a month before this bloke arrived?"
