The alcohol she was drowning herself into runs smoothly down her throat as she gulps the shot of tequila in one go.
She is at the bar. Alone.
Hating her life. Hating what she can't do. Hating everything that had broken and continuously breaking her apart.
Her finger where a stick of cigarette lies in between moves in a circular motion around the rim of the newly served shot glass of tequila in front of her as her mind once again wanders off to the bitter part of her past...
That day when her father announced that her mother is no longer with them.
"Take a rest, Gab.., I know you're tired and upset..." He said before turning to walk out of her hospital room.
"Mom... Did she abandon me as well, like you?" She asked with her broken voice. She just couldn't believe that none of her parents were beside her when she opened her eyes.
"Gabby..."
"Did she decide to not buy me back like you did? Is money and power more important to her too??"
"Don't say a word against your mother! You have no idea how she suffered because of you!" He said raising his voice at her, his eyes are now filled with tears he never want her to see.
"Because of me...?"She asked in. A whisper. It isn't as if it's her fault she were their daughter.
"She loves you Gab... We both know that..." Her father said with his broken voice.
"Then why isn't she here?! All I want now is to see and embrace her... She's all I want..." Not you...she added mentally although she knows that is half lie.
"She's gone..." He said surprised with himself too. He didn't want his daughter to learn, not until she gets better herself. Gabby is still in shock. She has yet to recover from her own trauma and learning of her mother's passing because of heart attack is the last thing Davis wanted her to face now.
"W-What...?" Gabby ask with eyes opened wide. What did he just say?!
"Rest now, Gabby... You need to rest."
"No! M-mom... Where is mom???! I want to see mom!" She cried as she stood up swaying, pulling the IV that is connected at the back of her palm.
"Mom!!!" She calls for her mother desperately before her father catches her from swaying and embracing her tightly.
"No!!! Let me go!!! I need to see mom! Mom!!!" She desperately pushed her father as she reaches for the door that are meters away from her.
"I want my mom!!!! I want to see mom!!!" She cried desperately as Davis embrace her tighter.
"I'm sorry Gab... I'm so sorry..." He said pulling her head to his chest as he breaks down as well.
"No......" She stopped trembling inside his arms as she shakes her head.
"Where is mom...?! Where is she??! I want to see mom, dad...! Please...! I want to see mom...!" She cries pushing her father so she can look at his tear-stained face.
"She's gone Gab... Your...mom...had a fatal heart attack..." For a moment, she felt her limbs froze. Her heart stopped beating.
This can't be true, right? Her father is just making fun of her, right?!
Shakily, Gabby looks up to see her father's mind that she always knows how to read.
All there was were grief, hurt, pain...
