Gabrielle closes her eyes tightly as she tries not to let a single tear fall from them again.
She had too much. She's drained, sick and broken as ever. She didn't want to end everything this way but Vincent really gave her no choice. She has to pull herself together. For Nic... For herself. Without him...
Now that the people behind Vincent's accident are already paying for their crimes, she no longer has the reason to still bear his name...especially not now that he's so disgusted to be sharing his name to her. She has to let go. If there will come a time when Vincent regains his memory and stand for what he said and promised to her---a perfect family, the promise he swore to before the accident took all of his memories of her, then she'll cross the bridge when she gets there.
But right now, she has to live. She has to look for and after herself. She has to fix everything he has broken even without him... she has to stitch all the broken pieces of her heart together with her own hands.
"I'm not here for this..." he speaks after some time as she hears the sound of the paper being signed before she feels him leaning closer to her on the bed. He then places the envelope in front of her before placing his hand on her arm.
"Leave..." she says as she puts her hand above his and pushes it away from her arm without opening her eyes.
"Never in a million years...Bella..." he says in a whisper as he brings his hand back to her head this time to gently caress her soft hair.
Wait...
Did he just...
That was it!
Breathing hard, she opens her eyes and looks up to him.
Did he just call her, Bella?!
"Never in a million years." He said one time when she was so drunk that she pushed him back to his slut of an ex.
Confused, she looks at the divorce papers he just brought down her bed and realizes that they weren't signed, instead, they were thorn.
"I can remember how much you mean to me now..." she throws him a look, her brown eyes full with questions and insecurity. His blue ones filled with sympathy and apology.
"not all the memories have resurfaced yet... but we'll get there together... don't do this to us..." he continues as he touches her warm cheeks while closing his eyes tightly as he remembers how much her warmth kept him alive all these years...and how much of a fool he was to feel that again just now."I love you, Bella... I've always been in love with you even when I can't remember anything. I just couldn't accept the fact that I am feeling such emotions again. And I'm so mad... so angry at myself for dragging you in a life where you have to take care of a useless tramp like me." Her tears were falling as Vince sits beside her on the bed, his palms resting on her cheek before his thumb brushes the traces of her tears.
"I'm so sorry to put you into all these heartaches... I'm really sorry I couldn't take care of you half as much as you are taking care of me... I'm an idiot..." he chuckles as his own tears fall. Then his hand cups the back of her neck before pulling her up to his embrace. Triggering her suppressed emotions to flood out of her shattered soul as she cries so hard on his chest.
"God... I'm so sorry, baby..." he looks up as his own tears fall. Feeling her heartbeats against his own and hearing her broken voice ripping his soul.
"I hate you..." she whispers hitting his chest making him smile against her forehead.
"I hate you!!!" She cries louder and he does too before he feels her arms around him as she embraces him like she'll die if she doesn't hold on to him this tight.
