"Be careful what you wished for... cause you might just get it..."

Those were the words that keep on ringing in his mind as he stares at Gabrielle's naked back facing his side of the bed.

Vincent rubs his face with his hand as he leans his elbows on his knees while sitting down the corner on the foot of Gabrielle's comfortable bed.

She's been asleep for hours now and he has been watching her for the same amount of time.

He wished for them to have this time, yes.
He wished to feel her warmth around him...
Her heartbeats against his own.

He got those wishes answered.

All of those came true when they made love tonight...

Is he happy?

If he is to think of how wonderful he felt reaching his world shaking climax inside her---if that alone is the basis of that "happiness" he would say yes.

But sadly... NO.

He wasn't happy.

Not at all.

Not knowing that Gabrielle felt otherwise...far from what he'd expected of her. Far from what he's done for her to feel the same pleasure he had just being with her.

It was painful...

It was scary...

It has been a torture for her.

His fists turn into a ball as he looks at her embracing herself on the edge of the bed. The moon is shining brightly on her face that is stained with tears.

He hates himself more than anything now.

For the reasons he initially wished he'd known and now regrets that he has found.

For the answers he wished he'd find out and now wishes he never knew.

The innocence, the aloofness and most importantly, the fear he would always see in her eyes are all because of the traumatic experience he himself has given her.

She asked him to erase the nightmares by making love to her and he did.

But in exchange for all the horrible memories to come back to his memories as he erase them in hers.

He knows now why her eyes were so innocent, he knows now why even though they've been married and are sharing a daughter, she's still so aloof.

He knows now why every time he would touch her, the only emotion he could see in her eyes is fear.

The same fear she tried so hard to suppress and conceal from him as he made love to her so gently tonight.

Hearing her cries and whimpers as her nails dig deeper in his skin every single time he moves his hips above hers were more than enough for the memories of her desperate cries and pleads that night when he abused her to echo in his mind.

Her bruised face kept on flashing back to his mind as he looked at her while moving inside her that he almost stopped if he didn't knew she needed them to do this for her to heal. If she didn't ask him to erase the bad experience and replace it with a gentle one, Vincent would have stopped.

Now, looking back at her sleeping form he could only recall the woman he woke up to the following day after that one sinful night he had given her. The woman who was bruised and in pain is all he could see as he looks at Gabrielle now.

"I'm sorry..." he whispered in his husky voice. Gabrielle sobs in her sleep and became restless. Reluctant and afraid he would only hurt her more, Vincent thinks twice whether he should go near her again.
