It had been almost two weeks now since he last saw Gabrielle. Just right after that night when they first met, Vincent had to fly back to Germany to try and sort things out in the company. He hadn't spoken to his grandfather about his encounter with the heiress of Davis Holding's President Gabriel Davis

His grandfather's mind is already made up. It is either he marries the President's daughter or he loses everything he worked for to Gabriel himself.

That is the deal.

But Vincent knows that he somehow has to try and save what he can without having to do the merging...without having to marry the young heiress.

He has no plans on getting married...at least for now.

He's having a hard time admitting that he's attracted to the hot doctor but marrying her is another issue. He wants her...fine. He can't deny that. The attraction was so strong that even up to now, he couldn't stop himself thinking about her.

But it is too soon to marry her. If he marries someone, he wants it done because they both want to settle down. Not because they are forced to do so. And that is exactly what is happening to them.

He'd learned that Gabriel was able to pull his daughter back under his shadow... Under what circumstances?

He doesn't know and he isn't sure if he would like to know as knowing Gabby, she couldn't be bribed by her father that easily. So it only means that her father has done something cruel to her again...something he is sure would make him feel more sick that Gabrielle is being treated in such a poor manner by her own father, again.

A week ago he had also learned that she is now working under her father, training as the new CEO of his company before actually taking over the business...that is if they marry.

"We can save the company..." He started as he stands in front of his grandfather's table in his library after finally gaining enough courage to say no to the deal.

"We don't need the merge." He continues making the old man adjust his spectacles down to his pointed nose to look at him eye to eye.

"Why are you suddenly having a Change of heart?" He watches his grandson clenching its jaws. A hint of anger in his eyes.

"I don't like the idea of marrying his daughter."

"You don't have to stay married to her if that's what you're worried about."

"What is the point of marrying her then?!" He asks feeling angry now. His grandfather just shrugs his shoulder dismissing the question.

"You want me to ruin her life, just like what her father is doing, is that it?"

"No father would like his daughter's life ruined, Vincent."

"Oh yeah? He already did that to his daughter. She's sick!" He says not meaning the word. He knows very well she is just broken.

"She is far from that... That girl is more than what you see... Marry her."

"Do you think she would just say yes and marry a stranger?!"

"She had signed the merge herself..."

"I can't believe that..." He says clutching his fist. His grandfather pushes a paper in front of him. Vincent just took it and briefly read what it says.

"She wouldn't be able to manage the whole company alone, Vincent. She is an intelligent woman, but with the amount of anger she has towards her father, she wouldn't care if the company goes down and she loses everything once she becomes president. If that happens, we will lose everything too. You have to marry her."
