Ma: *screams* Melanie Symone Henderson get your ass up before you miss school!

Me: Dang ma I'm up!

*looks at the clock*

Me: *smacks lips* ugh!

Ma does the same shit everyday like I don't know wassup! I get tired of her aggravating ass voice being the first thing I hear in the morning! Anyway, let me get up & get beautified. I always start off with my daily morning routine. Teeth, face, hair, & a dash of make-up. No cake faces over here though, because unlike those other girls out there make-up is just an accessory for me.

*walks down stairs*

Ma: Well, good morning to you too young lady!

Me: *rolls eyes* Good morning ma!

Ma: Don't forget I have things to do today so I want be home until it's late.

Me: Alright ma I'm gone!

Ma: Have a nice day!

Me: I will!

I don't even know why ma is telling me she's not gonna be home, because she's barley here anyway! I mean I'm not tripping or anything, but she could at least stay home & catch a movie with me sometimes! It's like she barley knows I even exist! Sometimes I feel like we're just two strangers living in the same house. I know she works to pay the bills, but money doesn't make up for lost time.

Now my father on the other hand...he ain't shit! I know you're probably thinking, well that's the typical being of a black male, but that isn't true. My father used to always be there for me, but he was starting to slack off a little bit & as soon as my ma brought up child support, POOF! My father disappeared like magic! Ever since then I barely keep in contact with him.

*shutting the front door*

Me: It's hot as hell out here!

*gets in car & cranks up*

*Rich Homie Quan blasting*

Rich Homie Quan: Some type of way, make you feel some type of way!

I sure don't feel like showing my face at Milton High School today! I swear just stepping into that place feels like pure hell! It's nothing but a messy, drama filled, broke down high school full of hating, low life, pressed for friends, ignorant ass people! It's like they can't think for themselves. It's a shame how they follow trends like they're held against their own will! It's like everybody wants to compete, but what for?

*arrives at Milton High*
