*Jamal wakes me up*

Jamal: Baby wake up, I'm gonna be late for work!

Me: Ok baby, don't forget the doctors appointment is tomorrow!

Jamal:'I wouldn't miss it for the world!

*we go downstairs*

Me: I love you

Jamal: *smiles* I love you two more

*we kiss & I watch him walk to his car*

Well, I guess I'll just sit around & wait until Misty gets here.

*hears knock at door*

Jamal must've left something upstairs!

*I open the front door*

Misty: Hey Melanie!

Me: Hey Misty, come in!

*I shut the door*

Misty: So what's going on?

Me: Nothing much, Jamal just left.

Misty: Oh, that's cool...I'm really glad that I finally have somebody like you as a sister.

Me: Awww, thank you *smiles*

Misty: I never understood why people didn't like me...

Me: Misty you just can't be mean to anybody.

Misty: It's just that I was so angry with daddy!

Me: Misty you have to understand that the world didn't hurt you, daddy did. You see I always walked around Milton high with a smile on my face & nobody would've never known what I was going thru behind closed doors!

Misty: I know, but it was hard for me to hide my pain.

Me: Misty everybody doesn't work the same. I coped with my side of the situation behind closed doors & I understand you couldn't. The people I saw you hang with at school look like they didn't give a damn about you! Misty some people just don't care how you feel, they only wanna be nosey!

Misty: *hugs me tight & starts to cry* Melanie thank you...*words start to stumble* I I love you.

Me: *wipes her tears away* Misty I love you too & I want you to know you can always run to me.

Misty: Thank you Melanie...

Me: *smiles* You're welcome

*we laugh & share memories about daddy*
